Saturday Dumpling Co., founded by husband-and-wife duo Peter Bian and Linda Cao, is a heartfelt ode to the comfort food of their childhoods. Inspired by Peter’s mother’s traditional recipes, what started as a small-batch dumpling venture evolved into a full-scale restaurant in Northeast Minneapolis.
The duo had a vision of serving fresh, made-to-order dumplings in a space that was reflective of their journey and values. When it came time to bring their brand to life within their restaurant, they turned to Brand Ink for custom interior graphics that seamlessly combined style and function.
Saturday Dumpling Co. needed interior graphics that enhanced the restaurant’s atmosphere while maintaining functionality. Linda approached Brand Ink with a clear vision: create privacy for the dumpling-making room while ensuring the space felt cohesive, welcoming, and unmistakably on-brand. A key challenge was maintaining natural light while adding visual interest and separation within the space.
After receiving a detailed quote from Brand Ink, Linda met the team for an on-site survey to discuss materials, designs, and execution. As a first-time customer, she was drawn to Brand Ink’s expertise in large-scale branding solutions. After this initial meeting in which she and the Brand Ink team discussed her ideas and the collaborative process by which they would bring them to life, she trusted the team to execute her vision with precision.
Achieving the perfect balance of privacy and transparency required careful material selection. Brand Ink worked closely with Linda, producing sample prints with varying levels of white ink coverage on acrylic panels. These samples allowed Linda to see firsthand how different levels of opacity would impact both visibility and natural light. This collaborative process gave her confidence in selecting the best option for her space.
Saturday Dumpling Co.’s in-house designer provided initial artwork, and Brand Ink’s team optimized the files for production quality and print clarity. The process involved refining light transparency while ensuring the bold colors—particularly the restaurant’s signature pink—remained vibrant and true to the brand.
The final custom window graphics were installed flawlessly, providing privacy without sacrificing openness. The completed graphics transformed the dumpling-making room into a functional yet visually striking focal point.
The bright pink hues and striking design not only enhanced the restaurant’s aesthetic but also increased its visibility along Central Avenue, attracting passersby and reinforcing the brand’s presence in the community.
More than just a decorative element, these graphics became an integral part of the restaurant’s identity, creating an inviting, branded environment that reflects the authenticity and warmth of Saturday Dumpling Co.’s story. The bold colors, carefully executed transparency, and seamless installation elevated the overall dining experience. Their story is now told through every detail of their space and their brand identity stands out in a highly competitive market.
By partnering with Brand Ink, Linda and Peter successfully created a space that is both practical and memorable, proving that great design is as much about function as it is about aesthetics. This project stands as a testament to Brand Ink’s expertise in creating impactful retail and architectural graphics that bring brands to life—inside and out.
Brand Ink’s expert craftsmanship ensured that Saturday Dumpling Co.’s window graphics achieved the perfect balance of privacy, branding, and light transmission.
