Designing Earth Contracting (DEC) was building a brand-new office for the company. Owners Jesse and Stephanie wanted to do more than just create an environment for their team— they wanted to create something special. They wanted an office that was a thriving hub of activity, a place for ideas and potential clients, a place for a team the work family they’d cultivated to spend time together after long workdays to celebrate, a place where the hardest challenges can be brought against the brightest minds and righteously beaten a la your favorite Hollywood movie.
They contacted CoLo Interior Design, where co-owners Colleen and Lori have been designing high end spaces for the most discerning clients for over 30 years. Mixing the passion that DEC has for their work with the logistical needs of a daily workspace was challenging, but Colleen and Lori are masters at their craft. Mood boards and desired styles emerged through many meetings DEC and CoLo Interior Design while the building was under construction. CoLo Interior Design brought in Brand Ink for our technical expertise to complement their design expertise.
Brand Ink owner Nick walked the in-progress space with Colleen at CoLo to talk through her vision for the space. Nick took notes, measured spaces, took photos, and looked for opportunities to expand Colleen’s vision in clever and unique ways.
The next day Brand ink’s design team sent mockups for various areas of the DEC building. An image of a giant excavator across the entire flight of stairs leading up to the community space? They matched Colleen and Lori’s vision perfectly. The attention to detail on the acrylic wall panels of historical company photos, complete with custom standoff bolts that matched DEC equipment, highlighted the high-quality work and experience of the team at DEC.
The two-story mural that spanned multiple walls and viewing angles was particularly challenging, as it had to make sense when viewed in part and when viewed comprehensively.
With only two weeks remaining until the office grand opening party, the Brand Ink team worked with quiet competence, caring for every detail along the way, freeing up the CoLo Interior Design team to focus on all the other details requiring their attention to meet the impending deadline.
In the end, the Jesse and Stephanie finally had an office worthy of the company they had built thanks to the vision of the CoLo Interior Design team, with contributions from Brand Ink. And, of course, Hairball got to bring glorious long 80s hair to East Bethel Minnesota as we all celebrated Designing Earth Contracting’s new home together. All. Night. Long.
Brand Ink collaborated closely with CoLo Interior Design to deliver the visual features that matched their bold vision.
