From the Minnesota State Fair and Twin Cities Pride Festival to Grand Old Day, the Mill City Farmers Market, Taste of Minnesota, and Art-A-Whirl, this region draws millions of people into shared outdoor spaces every spring, summer, and fall. For local businesses and food trucks, these events represent something far more valuable than a single day of sales. They are among the highest-traffic, most community-centered brand exposure moments of the entire year. But here’s the reality: every other vendor is there competing for attention, too. The businesses that walk away from an event season with new loyal customers, a growing social following, and a stronger community reputation are the ones who showed up with intention. We’re not talking about a bland tent and a folding table, but a presence that looked, felt, and functioned like the brand they’ve built. ## What Are Local Businesses Really Competing for at Outdoor Events? At a busy outdoor event, the average attendee is moving through a sea of visual stimulation. Tents blur together. Signage competes for the same glance. **A vendor who doesn’t immediately communicate who they are and why they’re worth stopping for gets passed by, regardless of how good their product or service actually is.** What you’re really competing for at a Twin Cities outdoor event is three things: - **Attention:** getting someone to stop - **Memory:** making an impression that lasts beyond the event - **Recognition:** turning a one-time encounter into a long-term customer relationship The goal isn’t just a strong Saturday at the farmers market. It’s being the business people mention to their friends on Sunday, follow on Instagram on Monday, and visit in person the following weekend. Established businesses have a built-in advantage here: you already have a brand. Whether that brand lives on a food truck, a trailer, or in a brick-and-mortar space, the opportunity is to carry it into the event environment with the same level of quality and intention. ## How Can Food Trucks and Trailers Stand Out at Outdoor Events? For food truck operators and businesses that travel to events with a vehicle, the conversation about event presence starts before you even set up. Your truck or trailer arrives in that parking lot, that festival ground, or that market space as a moving billboard, already visible to hundreds of people before your first customer steps up to order. [A professionally wrapped food truck or trailer doesn’t just look great. It commands attention in a crowded event lot, communicates your brand identity from a distance, and signals a level of professionalism that a plain or partially branded vehicle simply cannot match](https://brandink.com/how-to-make-your-food-truck-wrap-stand-out/ "How to Make Your Food Truck Wrap Stand Out"). ### Your Food Truck Wrap Is the Foundation of Your Entire Event Presence At an outdoor event, your wrapped truck or trailer sets the visual tone for everything else. It’s the largest graphic surface in your footprint, and it anchors your entire setup. When your wrap, your canopy, your signage, and your display graphics are designed as a unified visual system, the result is unmistakable. You don’t just have a booth. You have a presence. ### Trailer Wraps: An Underutilized Asset in the Twin Cities Event Space If you pull a trailer to events, whether it’s a concession trailer, a merchandise trailer, or a service trailer, that surface is some of the most valuable and most underutilized brand real estate at any Twin Cities outdoor event. A fully wrapped trailer offers an additional display purchase, whether it’s part of your booth setup or it’s parked in a lot nearby. ### How to Extend Your Vehicle’s Visual Identity into Your Full Event Setup The most visually cohesive event presences are the ones where the vehicle and the surrounding setup speak the same visual language: - Your truck wrap’s colors carry into your canopy - Your logo appears consistently on menu boards and backdrops - Your brand fonts and graphic style show up across all signage This level of consistency makes a strong statement, but it doesn’t happen by accident. It happens when everything is designed together as a single system, not assembled from separate pieces. ## How Should Your Outdoor Event Setup Reflect Your Brand? The most common mistake established brick-and-mortar businesses make at outdoor events is treating their event presence as a separate or lesser version of their brand: a generic pop-up tent, a hastily hand-painted sign, a tablecloth that doesn’t quite match. It communicates, unintentionally, that this isn’t the real version of your business. **Your event setup should be an extension of your permanent brand.** It should feel like a customer walked out of your store or up to your food truck and found themselves in the same world, just in a different location. So, how do you do that in such a different and noisy environment? While we stress that each business needs to find its own uniqueness in order to stand out, there are several canvases to consider: ### Custom Branded Canopy and Tent Your canopy is the most visible element of your event footprint. It’s visible from a distance, and stands high above the crowd. A custom-printed event tent puts your brand colors, logo, and visual identity directly on the structure itself, transforming what would otherwise be a generic white canopy into an unmistakable brand statement. It announces to everyone within sight that you are here, you are established, and you mean business. ### Backdrops, Banners, and Exhibition Displays Behind your products, behind your team, and behind every photo a customer takes at your booth is a surface. That surface is either working for you or it’s wasted space. Brand ink produces large-format backdrops, banners, and exhibition displays purpose-built for the demands of outdoor events: bold, vibrant, and built to maintain a professional appearance throughout a full day in the elements. Options include printed vinyl backdrops, freestanding banner displays, and custom exhibition structures that create visual depth and anchor your entire setup. ### Portable, Reusable Event Graphics Built for the Full Season The Twin Cities outdoor event season runs from spring through fall, and the best-designed event setups are built to travel. Modular display systems, durable hardware, and reusable graphic components mean your investment works across every event on your calendar, not just one. Consistency also compounds: customers who see you at the Mill City Farmers Market in June should recognize you instantly at Uptown Art Fair in August. ## How Do You Design Outdoor Event Graphics That Capture Attention and Hold Up All Season? Outdoor events present a design challenge that indoor retail spaces do not. Wind, direct sunlight, varying light conditions throughout the day, and the visual noise of hundreds of competing displays all affect how your graphics read and how long they hold up. A display that looks stunning in a studio photograph can disappear into a bright summer afternoon if it wasn’t designed with the outdoor environment in mind. ### How to Make Event Signage Readable from a Distance Indoor signage is typically designed to be read straight-on, from a relatively fixed distance. Outdoor event signage needs to work from across a crowded park, at an angle, and up close. That means designing for clear visual hierarchy: - **From 50+ feet away:** Your business name, logo, and brand colors should be immediately recognizable - **From 15 feet:** Cuisine type, key services, or your core value proposition should be legible - **Up close:** Supporting details, digital touchpoints, and any interactive elements reward the customer already standing in front of you Bold, high-contrast color combinations and large, clean typography are functional requirements for outdoor event graphics. ### What Materials Should You Use for Outdoor Event Displays? The Twin Cities outdoor event season is demanding. The right materials make the difference between a display that looks great all season and one that looks weathered by mid-July. Look for: - **UV-stable inks** that resist fading in direct sunlight - **Weather-resistant substrates** that hold up through humidity, temperature swings, and unexpected rain - **Reinforced mounting hardware** that won’t fail in wind - **Fabric display systems that flex** with the breeze rather than fight it Investing in the right materials from the start protects both the display and the impression it makes on every customer who sees it. ### Color Consistency Across Materials Matters One detail that often gets overlooked in event setups is how your brand colors appear across different materials. A color printed on a vinyl banner can look different from that same color on fabric, a tent canopy, or a table cover. Add in different printers, different production methods, and different vendors, and those inconsistencies become even more noticeable in a real-world event setting. What should feel like a cohesive brand presence can quickly start to feel pieced together. Working with a single printing partner, like Brand ink, who understands how to manage color across materials, print methods, and surfaces helps ensure your brand shows up consistently no matter where it’s applied. You should expect that the end result feels intentional, polished, and true to the brand you’ve built. ### Design for the Whole Space: Ground, Vertical, and Overhead Most event setups think vertically. The best ones think about the entire environment: - **Ground level:** Branded floor graphics or directional cues that guide foot traffic toward your space - **Eye level:** Your primary brand messaging, products, and customer-facing displays - **Above the crowd:** Overhead elements that make your footprint visible from a distance Thinking about how a potential customer approaches your space from any direction, not just head-on, is what separates a well-designed event presence from one that only looks good in the photos taken from directly in front. ## How Can Your Event Presence Keep Working After the Event Ends? The value of a well-executed outdoor event presence doesn’t end when the tents come down. It continues every time someone who visited your booth sees your truck on the road or passes by your business and recognizes it. Every time a social post from the event surfaces in someone’s feed weeks later. Every time a new customer walks into your retail location and mentions they first heard of you at the State Fair. It’s worth it to make a lasting impression, so think beyond the event day when thinking about your booth setup. ### How to Design Your Event Setup for Organic Social Media Content Every visual element of your event setup is a potential piece of content. A striking backdrop becomes the background in hundreds of customer photos. A dimensional graphic structure becomes the subject of videos. A bold canopy becomes the establishing shot in someone’s Instagram story about their day at the market. When you design your event presence with photography and social sharing in mind, you are not just creating a great booth. You are creating content that your customers generate for you, at no additional cost, and distribute to their own networks. That is earned media, and it is one of the highest-return investments a local business can make. ### How to Connect Your Event Presence to Your Permanent Business Every person who visits your booth is a potential long-term customer. Make it easy for them to find you again by building clear next steps into your physical setup: - Social handles displayed cleanly and prominently - A single QR code linked to the most useful destination for a new customer: your menu, your website, or your an active social media profile - Branded collateral they can take with them The event is the *introduction*. Your goal at the event is to make the next step obvious. ### Why Consistent Event Presence Builds Long-Term Brand Recognition in the Twin Cities Many attendees return to the same events year after year. A business that shows up consistently, looks polished every time, and creates experiences worth remembering builds a positive community reputation. Each event appearance adds to the last. Each season builds on the one before. That kind of community recognition is not built in a day. But it starts with showing up the right way. ## Show Up Like the Brand You’ve Built The Twin Cities outdoor event season is one of the best opportunities a local business has to meet its community face to face. The businesses that make the most of it are not necessarily the ones with the biggest budgets. They’re the ones who treat every event appearance as an opportunity to extend the brand they’ve built and earn more community recognition. At Brand ink, we help established Twin Cities businesses and food trucks design event presences that are worthy of the brands behind them. We build graphic solutions that make you impossible to miss and impossible to forget. Ready to make this your best event season yet? It’s a growing expectation from consumers, clients, and corporate stakeholders alike. Today’s event planners are under more pressure than ever to deliver memorable experiences while minimizing environmental impact. That means every detail of your event matters, including the displays, signage, and banners. From trade shows and product launches to branded activations and corporate gatherings, signage plays a central role in setting the stage. But for sustainability-minded organizations, choosing the right signage partner is just as important as choosing the right design. As [a Sustainable Green Printing (SGP) Certified Facility](https://www.prlog.org/13082512-continuing-the-green-journey-brand-ink-earns-sgp-recertification.html) with expertise in working with industry-leading, environmentally conscious materials, Brand ink is uniquely equipped to deliver bold, high-impact visuals that support your brand and your values. In this guide, we’ll explore eco-friendly signage options, materials, and best practices that help you reduce waste, extend the life of your graphics, and plan more sustainable events. ## Why Should You Use Sustainable Signage at Events? From corporate conferences and trade shows to pop-up activations and branded experiences, events often rely on large-scale signage to guide, inform, and impress. But most of that signage is temporary—used once and discarded—which makes events a significant contributor to visual waste. As environmental awareness grows, so does scrutiny. **Attendees notice when an event prioritizes sustainability and when it doesn’t. Brands are being held accountable not only for what they say, but how they show up.** That includes the materials used in signage, the printing processes behind them, and whether elements are reused, recycled, or destined for the landfill. Choosing sustainable signage options sends a clear message: your brand doesn’t just talk about its values; it reflects them in action. Whether driven by internal Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) policies, external stakeholder expectations, or certification frameworks like LEED, **eco-conscious signage supports brand reputation, builds trust, and reinforces corporate responsibility goals.** It also positions your business as forward-thinking and aligned with the values of your audience. When you partner with a signage provider who shares your sustainability priorities, you gain more than just a visual solution. You gain a strategic ally in delivering an event experience that’s both powerful and principled. ## What Are the Best Eco-Friendly Materials for Event Signage? When it comes to creating sustainable signage, the materials you choose matter just as much as the message you print. From the substrate to the ink, each element plays a role in reducing your event’s environmental footprint. At Brand ink, we work with a variety of eco-conscious materials and print technologies that support high-impact designs without compromising on sustainability. Below are some of the most trusted options. ### Sustainable Film and Rigid Substrate Options The foundation of any signage solution starts with the right substrate. Choosing recyclable, lightweight materials can significantly reduce your event’s environmental impact. - **Recyclable substrates** help reduce landfill waste and are easier to dispose of responsibly after the event. - **Lighter materials** reduce shipping emissions, helping you cut carbon costs before the signage even goes up. - **Vinyl alternatives** are available for common signage needs like banners, floor decals, directional signage, and branded backdrops. All of these substrates are compatible with Brand ink’s eco-friendly print processes, including using Greenguard gold-certified inks, low-energy printing and efficient material handling. ### 3M™ Envision™ Wrap Films For brands that want premium performance and environmental responsibility, 3M™ Envision™ Wrap Films offer a best-in-class solution. These films are: - PVC-free, phthalate-free, and made without chlorine or halogens - Designed for compatibility with solvent-free and water-based inks, which help reduce harmful VOC emissions - Built for exceptional durability, making them ideal for both indoor and outdoor use—including stage design, backdrops, wall murals, and wrapped event vehicles As a 3M™ Certified Installer, Brand ink has the expertise to maximize both the visual impact and the environmental benefits of these advanced wrap films. ### Low-VOC and Water-Based Inks Ink composition plays a big role in signage sustainability, especially for indoor installations and events in sensitive environments. - Brand ink uses low-VOC and water-based ink systems that emit fewer harmful compounds than traditional solvent inks. - These inks are safer for children’s events, health-focused expos, and indoor activations with high foot traffic. - They also align with LEED certification goals and the sustainability standards of the Sustainable Green Printing Partnership (SGP). **Whether you’re planning a corporate conference, a product launch, or a traveling event series, choosing the right materials helps reduce your impact without sacrificing the professionalism and visual quality your brand demands.** ## How Can You Design Event Signage for Reuse? When planning a sustainable event, it’s not just about what materials you choose. It’s also about how your signage can be used again and again. Designing with reusability in mind helps reduce waste, save costs over time, and maximize the return on your signage investment. Here are smart ways to extend the life and value of your event graphics: ### Create Branded Displays Built to Last. Don’t settle for single-use signage. Invest in durable, professional-grade displays that are built to withstand multiple installations and still look polished. Brand ink uses rigid materials, reinforced hardware, and expert mounting techniques to ensure your displays hold up over time, giving you more value and less waste. ### Design Modular, Non-Date-Specific Signage. Avoid locking signage into one-time use by skipping event-specific details like dates and locations. Instead, create modular displays and evergreen designs that can be repurposed across different venues and event types. With reusable frame systems and adaptable layouts, your signage stays relevant—and out of the landfill. ### Use Interchangeable Graphics for Easy Updates. Make one display do the work of many. Start with neutral backdrops or base structures and update them with interchangeable graphic elements like SEG (Silicone Edge Graphics) fabric inserts, magnetic panels, or adhesive overlays. This allows you to refresh your branding or messaging for each event without having to start from scratch. ## How to Extend the Life of Your Event Signage Eco-friendly signage isn’t just about what it’s made of—it’s about how long it lasts. Signage that’s properly stored, maintained, and reinstalled can perform year after year, reducing the need for replacements and lowering your event’s environmental impact. It’s a smarter investment for your brand and the planet. If you’re designing signage for reuse, though, protecting its quality between events is just as important as the materials you choose. Improper storage or handling can shorten the life of even the most durable display leading to avoidable waste, higher costs, and missed opportunities to maximize your investment. ### Store Smart to Extend Signage Life Reusable signage is only sustainable if it lasts. That’s why proper storage practices are critical. Signage should be cleaned and fully dried, then kept in a clean, climate-controlled space. Avoid exposure to UV light, moisture, or pressure. These can lead to fading, warping, or creasing over time. It’s equally important to ensure that anyone handling your signage during storage treats it with the same level of care you would. Brand ink educates clients on how to protect their signage between events, so materials stay vibrant and structurally sound over time. ### Plan for Reuse with Support Services If you’re planning a multi-city tour, seasonal campaign, or annual event, Brand ink can help. We offer guidance on how to package, transport, and reinstall your signage. We can also provide reinstallation services when needed to ensure signage is handled correctly and protect it from damage. With the right planning and support, one signage system can deliver a professional look at every event on your calendar. ## How to Plan a More Sustainable Event Signage Strategy Sustainability starts with smart planning. Use this checklist to guide your conversations with your signage partner and make intentional choices that reduce waste while supporting your brand goals. **Ask About Eco-Friendly Materials** - Are vinyl alternatives or recyclable substrates available for your signage needs? - Can fabric-based or paper-based materials be used for lighter, lower-impact displays? **Understand Ink Composition** - Does the provider use low-VOC, eco-solvent, or water-based inks? - Are the inks safe for indoor environments and compliant with green building standards? **Design for Durability and Reuse** - Can the signage be used across multiple events or campaigns? - Are modular frames, interchangeable graphics, or non-dated designs available? **Plan for Storage and Transport** - What are the recommended storage methods to protect signage between events? - Can materials be packed and transported efficiently without damage? **Ask About Certifications and Sustainability Practices** - Is your print partner certified by organizations like the Sustainable Green Printing Partnership (SGP)? - Do they follow processes that prioritize waste reduction and energy efficiency? **Collaborate Early** - Involve your signage provider during the design phase to build with reuse and longevity in mind. - Plan ahead for how materials will be reused, recycled, or disposed of after the event. ## Design Bold. Print Smart. Protect the Planet. Sustainability and standout design don’t have to be at odds. With the right materials, thoughtful planning, and a trusted partner like Brand ink, you can create [high-impact event signage](https://brandink.com/service/events-graphic-solutions/ "Events Graphic Solutions") that meets your branding goals and supports your environmental values. Eco-conscious signage doesn’t mean compromising on quality, durability, or visual appeal. It means making intentional choices that benefit your brand, your audience, and the planet. ## Sustainable Production and Certifications at Brand Ink Brand ink’s commitment to sustainability goes beyond materials. You’re creating a chance for people to discover, connect with, and remember your brand. Whether it’s a trade show booth, a festival sponsorship, or a community pop-up, your event presence is more than a marketing line item. It’s a physical touchpoint between your business and the people you want to reach most. And in a crowded space full of visual noise, the brands that get remembered are the ones that create a unique, positive experience for attendees. With interactive large-format print elements, your signage can capture attention, engage, and inspire. From selfie stations and tactile displays to branded seating and collaborative art, interactive graphics turn passive attendees into active participants and evolve passive impressions into meaningful moments. In this blog, we’ll share strategic ways to [use print-based graphics to deepen engagement at events](https://brandink.com/brand-inks-large-format-printing-services/events-graphic-solutions/ "Stand Out With Powerful Event Graphic Solutions"), helping your brand stand out, spark connection, and stay top of mind long after the event is over. ## 1. Make Engagement Physical: Encourage Touch, Movement, and Exploration Physical interaction captures attention in a way that flat visuals don’t. It invites people to pause, get curious, and engage with your brand in a tactile way that engages multiple senses. These moments of touch and exploration help your brand build emotional resonance and stay top of mind. Tactile displays also create space for connection. When attendees gather around a hands-on installation, it creates natural opportunities for your staff to spark conversations and for attendees to connect with each other. Suddenly, your brand isn’t just a booth or backdrop. It’s the centerpiece of shared experience. ### **Creative ideas for physical engagement:** - **Flip panels or lift-to-reveal graphics** that share fun facts, product features, or brand stories in an interactive format - **Routed textures or layered dimensional graphics** that encourage visitors to feel the difference, literally - **Writable surfaces** where attendees can respond to a prompt, leave a message, or participate in a shared idea wall - **Sensory texture displays** to highlight product features or bring your brand personality to life in a multisensory way - **Interactive product demos** embedded within graphic displays, turning sampling or testing into a guided experience, not just a table of freebies When you create displays that encourage movement and exploration, you invite attendees to stop, interact, and connect. That moment of engagement might only take a few seconds, but the memory of it can last long after the event ends. ## 2. Build Photo-Worthy Moments that Drive Social Sharing Creating spaces where attendees want to take and share photos is one of the most effective ways to extend your brand’s reach beyond the event itself. But to inspire that kind of organic engagement, your display needs to be more than a backdrop. It needs to be an experience your audience wants to be seen interacting with. But, if you just put your logo on a backdrop, no one will be inspired to capture the moment. To succeed, your installation must resonate with your audience, surprise or delight them, and make them feel like part of something worth sharing. When done right, these moments turn attendees into content creators—boosting your brand’s visibility and giving your presence legs long after the event ends. ### **What makes a share-worthy photo op?** - Indirectly reflects your brand in a clever, visually interesting, or culturally relevant way - Offers an opportunity for your audience to elevate their own image, not just yours - Taps into creativity, humor, aspiration, or emotion—something that makes it worth the post ### **Examples of photo-inspiring print installations:** - **Step-and-repeat walls:** Traditionally used for press events and red carpets, these backdrops feature repeating logos or patterns. But for modern event marketing, think beyond the logo grid. Incorporate lifestyle imagery, scenic artwork, or clever illustrations that align with your brand’s identity, but are designed to spotlight the attendee, not your branding. Subtle logos or taglines can be integrated into the background without making the brand the focal point. - **3D props or dimensional cutouts:** Oversized or sculptural elements can turn your booth or activation into a mini set. Instead of obvious brand icons, consider objects or shapes your audience connects with emotionally or culturally within a lifestyle related to your brand, like a giant ice cream cone for a summer theme, or abstract shapes that invite playful interaction. Your brand can still be represented, but it should feel secondary to the creative moment. - **Oversized printed objects:** Think giant branded coffee cups, wearable cutout accessories, or massive location pins—anything that draws a crowd and sparks a smile. - **Artistic displays:** Partner with a local illustrator, typographer, or muralist to create an on-brand backdrop that feels more like a public art piece than a billboard. ## 3. Invite Participation Through Shared Expression Engagement becomes more powerful when people aren’t just interacting with your brand, they’re *contributing* to it. When attendees are given a chance to shape, build, or leave their mark on a display, the experience becomes deeply personal. It fosters a sense of belonging, creativity, and connection—not just with your brand, but with the broader community around it. That kind of emotional resonance is hard to forget. This isn’t about performance or high-stakes art. It’s about small, low-barrier ways for people to express themselves and feel seen, to connect a positive emotional feeling with the experience and, therefore, your brand. ### **Ideas for creative self-expression through print-based installations:** - **Collaborative murals or coloring walls:** Large-format printed outlines or templates where attendees can color in sections, doodle within shapes, or add stickers to complete a shared visual - **Sticker or magnet walls:** Invite participants to “vote” or self-identify with branded sticker prompts (e.g., “My first concert was…,” “My go-to coffee order is…”) that spark curiosity and conversation - **Message boards or question walls:** Pose a compelling or playful question and provide writable surfaces or peel-and-stick speech bubbles for attendees to answer - **Gratitude or memory walls:** Use printed panels where people can write or draw a thank-you message, share a brand-related story, or contribute ideas - **Interactive wish trees or intention displays:** Inspired by cultural traditions, invite guests to hang a tag or card with a goal, message, or hope. These types of displays give attendees a reason to linger, reflect, and interact not just with your brand, but with each other. And the growing display itself becomes a dynamic, evolving focal point throughout the event. They also have a secondary effect: the more people participate, the more others want to join in. This kind of contagious engagement turns your print installation into an anchor for community-building and conversation, making your brand part of something bigger than the event itself. ## 4. Extend the Interaction Beyond the Physical Event Space The most successful event installations don’t end when attendees walk away but invite them to continue the experience long after. By thoughtfully linking your in-person installation to a digital component, you can deepen engagement, extend brand interaction, and leave a lasting impression that continues beyond the event floor. But for it to work, the digital experience needs to feel like a natural extension, not a detour, and certainly not a sales trap. A QR code that leads straight to an email signup form or product page? That’s not a payoff. It’s likely a dead end. Instead, think about what the attendee just experienced in person. What’s the next logical or delightful step? The digital extension should feel like a reward, something useful, surprising, or entertaining. And it should be related to the installation, not separate from it. ### **Examples of meaningful digital tie-ins:** - A fun quiz that relates to the interactive display and gives a personality result or product match - A limited-time coupon or giveaway for people who scan the code after participating in your tactile display - A gallery of photos from the event featuring their contributions (especially powerful for collaborative walls or photo stations) - Downloadable tools, templates, or educational resources that align with the topic explored in your in-person activation ### **Tactful ways to integrate digital CTAs into physical displays:** - QR codes embedded in murals, backdrops, or standees (make them clearly labeled with what users will get, not just where they’ll go) - Short, memorable vanity URLs printed on signage - Hashtag campaigns tied to user-generated content that began at the event (especially useful for photo ops or shareable expressions) - Tearaway cards, stickers, or tokens with printed CTAs that attendees can take with them The key is balance. The physical experience should stand alone as valuable, while the digital component enhances and extends it—not the other way around. Together, they create a multi-touchpoint experience that turns momentary engagement into long-term brand connection. ## Build an Experience, Not Just an Event When you turn attendees into participants through interaction, self-expression, and shared experiences, you create moments that matter. Engaging event graphics inspire emotional connection. That’s what transforms a print installation into a memorable experience and a passing visitor into a lasting brand advocate. That’s roughly how long a passerby spends looking at your food truck before they decide whether to stop or keep walking. In that window, your wrap needs to tell them who you are, what you’re serving, and why they should care all before a single word is spoken. The food truck owners who understand the difference are the ones with the longest lines. The temptation when designing a [food truck wrap](https://brandink.com/service/commercial-vehicle-wrap/ "Commercial Vehicle Wrap") is to include everything. Your name, your full menu, your phone number, your hours, your Instagram handle, your origin story. It feels like more information equals more opportunity. But a wrap that tries to say everything ends up saying nothing. Clutter doesn’t communicate. It’s overwhelming. The best food truck wraps are the result of deliberate decisions: what stays, what goes, and what belongs somewhere else entirely. This guide will walk you through each of those decisions so that every element on your truck earns its place and does its job. ## The Three Things Every Food Truck Wrap Must Communicate Before anything else goes on your truck, three elements need to be locked in and designed to dominate: your business name, your logo, and a clear signal of what you sell. These are branding basics, and they’re the foundation that every other design decision is built around. They need to work together to create an identity that registers instantly, even at a glance from across a parking lot. ### 1. Business Name: Make It the Headline Your name needs to be large, legible, and visible from a distance. This sounds obvious, but it’s one of the most commonly compromised elements in food truck wrap design. Fonts get chosen for personality over readability. Names get tucked into corners or scaled down to make room for other elements. The result is a truck that looks busy but doesn’t stick. Think of your name as the headline of an advertisement. It should be the first thing a stranger reads, and it should be readable from at least 50 feet away in full daylight. ### 2. Logo: Design It for Scale A logo that works beautifully on a business card or app icon doesn’t always translate directly to a large-format vehicle surface. Scaling up reveals weaknesses in design, thin lines disappear, fine details blur, and colors that look sharp on screen can shift dramatically in print. Before your wrap goes to production, make sure your logo has been evaluated and prepared specifically for large-format use. A great wrap designer will flag these issues early and work with you to adapt your logo without compromising its integrity. ### 3. Cuisine Type or Tagline: Answer the Question Before They Ask It If your business name doesn’t immediately communicate what you serve, you need a supporting line that does. Customers make split-second decisions. If they can’t tell within one second whether your truck is selling tacos, BBQ, or Thai food, they may not bother finding out. This doesn’t have to be complicated. Sometimes it’s as simple as a cuisine descriptor beneath your name, or a tagline that does double duty by communicating both what you sell and your brand personality. A line like “Wood-fired pizza, made to order” tells a customer everything they need to know to decide whether to get in line. ## Social Media, QR Codes, and Contact Info: What to Include on Your Food Truck and Where to Put It Once your core identity is established, the next layer to consider is how your wrap connects customers to your brand beyond the moment they see your truck. Digital touchpoints, such as social handles, QR codes, and web addresses, can extend a single visual impression into a lasting customer relationship. ### Social Media Handles: Promote Only What You Maintain Your social media presence is where customers go to check your schedule, see your menu, get excited about your food before they arrive, and share their experience after they leave. Including your social handles on your wrap is one of the smartest things you can do, but a few rules apply: - Only include platforms where you are consistently active. A handle that leads to a dormant account does more harm than good. - For most food trucks, Instagram and TikTok are the highest-value platforms to promote. Focus there, if you’re active on those platforms. - Display handles cleanly, with the platform icon for instant recognition. - Place them where they’re visible when your truck is stationary and serving customers. Customers are most likely to notice your social handles while they are waiting in line or waiting for their order. ### QR Codes: One Code, One Purpose A QR code on your food truck wrap can be genuinely powerful, but only if it has a single, clear destination. Pick one action that matters most to your business and makes the most sense for your customers right now, whether that’s viewing your menu, placing an order online, or leaving a Google review. Placing multiple QR codes on a single wrap can create confusion and dilute the action you actually want customers to take, so choose only one. Place your QR code at eye level on the side of your truck nearest to where customers queue or wait. This is the moment they’re most likely to have their phones out. Label the code clearly so customers know exactly what they’ll get: “View our menu” or “Order ahead” works far better than an unlabeled code that nobody bothers to scan. ### Website and Phone Number: Make them Count or Leave Them Off Website and phone numbers earn their space on some food truck wraps while simply adding clutter to others. If your website is where customers place orders, check your schedule, or find your location, include it. If it’s a rarely-updated placeholder, leave it off. Phone numbers are worth including if customers regularly call ahead or if you take catering inquiries. Otherwise, they take up visual real estate that could be better used. The guiding principle for every digital element: it should have one clear purpose. If you can’t articulate what action you want a customer to take after seeing it, it probably doesn’t belong on the wrap. ## How Should You Display Your Menu on Your Food Truck? Menus change. Prices change. Items get added, removed, and seasonally rotated. When it comes to your truck’s menu, a little strategic thinking ahead of time can save future expenses and a lot of visual noise, making your food truck’s menu work best for your customers and your business. A signature item, a hero food image, a cuisine category, or a “house specialty” callout on your wrap can whet a customer’s appetite without overwhelming the design or boxing you in. Meanwhile, your full menu should be approached with flexibility in mind. ### Food Truck Menu Boards and Temporary Graphics Your vehicle wrap is not your only graphic surface, and it shouldn’t be trying to do every job on its own. Purpose-built temporary graphics are the perfect solution for communicating your current menu, pricing, and daily specials. Options include: - **Printed menu boards** mounted near your service window - **Magnetic panels** that can be swapped out seasonally or as your offerings change - **A-frame sidewalk signs** that draw in foot traffic from a distance - **Window clings** for specials, LTOs, or pricing updates These options are changeable, affordable to update, and designed to be read up close by customers who are already interested and standing in line. This two-layer approach, a permanent wrap that attracts customers, paired with flexible temporary graphics that inform and sell, is the most effective system a food truck can use. It keeps your truck looking sharp and current without the cost of a full rewrap every time your menu evolves. When these two layers are designed together with a consistent visual language, the result feels intentional and professional. When they’re designed separately or treated as afterthoughts, the mismatch shows. ## How to Design a Food Truck Wrap That Gets Shared on Social Media Here’s something worth thinking about: the time customers spend waiting in line for their food is some of the most valuable real estate you have. They’re standing still. They’re looking at your truck. And they have their phones in their hands. That is an important opportunity for your business, and you can capitalize on it using your truck wrap. ### Think of Your Food Truck as a Photo Backdrop Encourage interaction and social sharing by giving customers a visual element so striking, clever, or personality-driven that people are compelled to stand in front of it and take a picture. This could be a bold graphic that frames a person perfectly when they stand in front of it. It could be a mural-style illustration that feels like public art. Whatever it is, it should feel like something worth sharing, not something that looks like an ad. The key distinction is designing for the person in the photo, not for your brand. The best shareable moments make the customer look good, feel something, or be part of something visually interesting. Your branding is there, but it’s woven into the scene rather than plastered over it. ### Turn Every Customer Photo Into Free Advertising When you design a shareable moment into your wrap, make sure your social handle is integrated naturally into that same zone. When a customer posts a photo in front of your truck, every person who sees that post should be able to find you with zero effort. This turns every organic social post into a referral. Not because you paid for it, asked for it, or ran a contest, but because you built a wrap that was worth posting about in the first place. ## What NOT to Put on Your Food Truck Wrap Knowing what to exclude is just as important as knowing what to include. Here are the most common elements that food truck owners feel compelled to add but are almost always better left off. - **Your hours.** They change. They vary by event and season. Put them on a temporary window cling, and your social profiles and website where they can be updated in real time. - **Your full address or home city.** Food trucks move. A fixed address on a permanent wrap can confuse customers and looks outdated the moment you expand your territory. - **Long taglines or mission statements.** If it takes more than five words to say, it’s too long for a vehicle wrap. Copy that works in a brochure rarely works at 35 mph. - **Too many menu items.** As covered above, this belongs in your temporary graphic layer, not baked into your vinyl. - **Decorative elements that compete with your core identity.** Every graphic element should support the visual hierarchy, not fight it. If something doesn’t help direct a viewer’s eye toward your name, your cuisine, or your call to action, it’s adding noise. The one-second rule is a useful test. If a stranger driving past your truck can’t grasp your brand identity and what you sell within one second, something needs to come off. Simplicity isn’t a design limitation. It’s the goal. ## Every Inch of Your Food Truck Wrap Has a Job to Do A great food truck wrap isn’t about filling space. It’s about making intentional decisions that build your brand, drive real customer action, and create moments worth talking about. The decisions you make at the design stage, what to include, what to hold back, how to layer your permanent and temporary graphics, and how to design for the customer experience will determine how hard your wrap works for the life of your truck. At Brand ink, we help food truck owners think through every one of those decisions before a single inch of vinyl goes to print. From initial concept to final installation, we make sure your wrap is doing exactly what it should: attracting attention, communicating your brand, and giving customers a reason to stop, order, and come back. One powerful tool that often goes underutilized is custom wall murals. These vibrant and dynamic designs not only enhance the aesthetic appeal of a space but also serve to communicate your brand identity and values. By strategically placing murals throughout your store, you can guide customers through their journey, evoke emotions, and ultimately foster a deeper connection with your brand. This guide will explore how to effectively utilize [custom wall murals to maximize impact in your retail environment](https://brandink.com/brand-inks-large-format-printing-services/retail-graphic-solutions/ "Retail Graphic Solutions"). ## Creating a Memorable Atmosphere with Purposeful Mural Design When designing a retail space, consider the emotions and memories you want to leave with your customers. Whether your goal is to inspire excitement, foster relaxation, or spark curiosity, custom murals can play a pivotal role in reinforcing these feelings. For a boutique seeking to create an atmosphere of fun and adventure, a vibrant mural can set the perfect tone. In contrast, a wellness store might benefit from calming colors and nature-inspired imagery to promote relaxation and well-being. Murals that reflect your brand’s message and ambiance transform shopping from a routine errand into a memorable interaction. By thoughtfully choosing designs that evoke the right emotions, you ensure that customers enjoy their visit and carry a piece of that positive experience long after they’ve left the store. ## Enhancing the Customer Journey with Strategic Mural Placements Every step of a customer’s journey within a store offers an opportunity to make a memorable impression, and custom wall murals can transform these key moments. By enhancing each touchpoint, murals beautify the space while supporting an intentional, seamless customer experience that keeps shoppers engaged and connected to the brand. ### Entryway Murals for a Welcoming First Impression Starting at the entrance, an eye-catching mural can set the tone and give customers an immediate sense of the brand’s personality—whether it’s energetic, calming, or high-end. An impactful mural at the entryway serves as a visual introduction, creating an inviting atmosphere that pulls customers in. Using bold colors or unique imagery that reflects the brand’s identity helps create an instant, memorable impression. Consider incorporating an artistic rendition of your logo or a striking design that embodies your brand’s essence. This initial visual cue helps customers feel immediately connected to the space and excited to explore further. With a well-thought-out entrance mural, you’re not just decorating the entryway; you’re crafting the first chapter of the customer’s experience in a way that feels welcoming, memorable, and true to your brand. ### Feature Walls for Highlighting Products and Promotions As customers move through the shopping areas, well-placed murals can serve as visual cues that guide them to featured products and key displays. By placing murals near product showcases or seasonal promotions, you capture attention in a way that feels natural and inviting. A carefully designed mural acts as a backdrop that enhances the appeal of merchandise, drawing the eye without overwhelming the product itself. For instance, incorporating colors and themes that complement specific collections or promotional items helps create a cohesive visual experience. These feature walls do more than decorate; they create an intuitive flow that directs customers toward what’s new, special, or seasonally relevant, enriching their shopping experience while amplifying your brand’s messaging. ### Checkout Areas for a Memorable Exit The checkout area is the final touchpoint of a customer’s journey through your store, making it an ideal place to leave a lasting impact. A thoughtfully designed mural here can reinforce brand values and encourage repeat visits while providing a visually engaging focal point for customers waiting in line. Incorporating brand messaging or an inspiring design offers a unique opportunity to communicate a memorable parting message—whether it’s a friendly reminder of your brand’s commitment to quality, a playful farewell, or an invitation to return soon. For example, a mural featuring a compelling tagline or artwork that encapsulates your brand’s spirit creates a positive, lasting impression as customers wrap up their visit. When done well, a checkout mural not only makes the wait more enjoyable but also ensures that customers leave with a sense of connection and loyalty to your brand. ## Strategic Design Tips to Enhance the Retail Environment Creating impactful wall murals isn’t just about choosing the right image; it’s about designing with intention to complement the retail environment. By considering elements like visual hierarchy, brand cohesion, and spatial scale, you can ensure that each mural enhances the shopping experience and adds value to your store’s layout. ### Use Visual Hierarchies to Guide Customer Attention A well-designed mural does more than beautify a space; it can also help guide customers through different sections of the store. By using visual hierarchies—design elements that create a sense of order and flow—you can lead customers’ eyes toward key areas and featured products. Techniques like gradients, focal points, and varying line weights can direct attention to specific parts of the mural and the store layout. For example, a soft gradient leading from one side of a wall to the other can draw customers further into the store, while bold shapes or brighter colors can highlight particular products or promotional areas. Using visual hierarchies thoughtfully not only enhances the mural’s impact but also subtly shapes the customer journey, helping them discover everything your store has to offer. ### Incorporate Brand Colors and Logos Thoughtfully To create a cohesive shopping experience, it’s important to incorporate brand colors and logos in a way that feels intentional and balanced. While a mural is an excellent opportunity to reinforce brand identity, an overly bold or saturated design can overwhelm customers and detract from the overall ambiance. Instead, consider integrating brand colors subtly within the mural—perhaps as accent colors or secondary elements that blend with the larger design. Logos can also be used artistically, positioned in a way that feels like a natural part of the artwork rather than a separate, promotional piece. By weaving brand elements into the mural thoughtfully, you ensure that the design feels harmonious with the rest of the store, enhancing brand recognition without overpowering the shopping experience. ### Consider Scale and Proportion for Maximum Impact The scale and proportion of a mural should complement the dimensions of the space it occupies to create a balanced, visually appealing environment. For larger walls, a grand, sweeping mural with bold shapes and expansive designs can effectively fill the space without making it feel cluttered. In contrast, smaller or more confined areas may benefit from minimalist designs or subtle patterns that add character without overcrowding the wall. Scaling down certain elements within the mural or opting for negative space can help maintain an open, airy feeling. By considering the specific proportions of each wall, you can ensure that every mural enhances the space without overwhelming it, creating an environment that feels thoughtfully curated and visually balanced. ## Consider Different Types of Wall Mural Materials Choosing the right material for your wall mural is crucial to achieving the desired impact while also considering installation and maintenance. Here are some popular options: ### Vinyl Decals for Flexibility - **Ideal for Seasonal Updates**: Vinyl decals are perfect for retailers looking to refresh their space frequently. They can easily be replaced to align with seasonal promotions or special events. - **Temporary Campaigns**: These decals can be used for limited-time campaigns without the commitment of permanent murals. - **Easy to Install and Remove**: Vinyl is lightweight and can be installed with minimal effort, making it an excellent choice for businesses that like to keep their displays dynamic. ### Painted or Printed Murals for Longevity - **Best for Long-Term Branding**: For a more permanent solution, digitally printed murals provide durability and a polished look that enhances brand identity. - **High Traffic Resistance**: These murals are designed to withstand the wear and tear of a busy retail environment, ensuring they look great over time. - **Customizable Designs**: Printed options allow for intricate designs and larger graphics that can make a powerful statement in your store. ### Silicon Edge Graphics (SEG) for Frequently Updated Campaigns - **Crisp Visuals**: The fabric material allows for high-resolution prints with vibrant colors and sharp details, ensuring your brand’s visuals stand out. - **Interchangeable Designs**: SEGs are easy to update, making them an excellent choice for seasonal promotions or rotating campaigns. Simply replace the fabric panel while keeping the existing frame. - **Lightweight and Durable**: Despite their lightweight nature, SEGs are designed to withstand wear and tear in high-traffic retail spaces, maintaining their professional appearance over time. - **Edge-to-Edge Impact**: With no visible frame, SEGs offer a polished and modern aesthetic that enhances the overall ambiance of your store. ### Textured Finishes for Added Dimension - **Mimic Natural Materials**: Textured finishes can imitate the look of wood, concrete, or other materials, adding depth and visual interest to your walls. - **Tactile Appeal**: These finishes engage customers’ senses, encouraging them to interact with the space in a more immersive way. - **Unique Aesthetic**: By incorporating textures, you can create a distinct atmosphere that aligns with your brand’s personality and enhances the overall shopping experience. By carefully considering these materials, you can select the best option to achieve your desired aesthetic while meeting the functional needs of your retail environment. ## Envision the Possibilities with Custom Wall Murals If you’re ready to elevate your retail environment and leave a lasting impression on your customers, explore Brand ink’s [retail graphics solutions](https://brandink.com/brand-inks-large-format-printing-services/retail-graphic-solutions/ "Retail Graphic Solutions"). That means **your store needs to be more than a place to browse and buy**. It needs to create an experience, one that invites curiosity from the street, delivers a sense of discovery inside, and leaves a lasting impression as customers walk out the door. **Strategic, [well-executed retail graphics](https://brandink.com/service/retail-graphic-solutions/ "Retail Graphic Solutions") are one of the most powerful tools you have.** They help you shape the atmosphere, communicate your brand story, guide shoppers through the space, and bring seasonal campaigns or promotions to life. The key? Balancing long-lasting brand elements with flexible, changeable graphics. Durable wall murals or dimensional signage reinforce your identity over time, while swappable window displays, floor decals, and campaign callouts help your store evolve with seasons, product launches, and customer needs. In this blog, we’ll walk through every major touchpoint of the in-store journey to show how custom graphics can transform your retail space into an immersive, engaging brand experience. ## 1. Windows and Exterior: Invite Curiosity from the Curb Your storefront is your most powerful billboard. Before a customer ever steps inside, they are forming opinions about your brand based on what they see from the sidewalk or street. This is your opportunity to spark interest, create excitement, and invite them into something worth exploring. **Permanent graphics:** - Logo decals or brand patterns printed directly on glass - Dimensional lettering above or around the entrance - Frosted or etched vinyl for subtle, stylish branding **Temporary graphics:** - Full or partial perforated window film for seasonal campaigns - Static clings or repositionable vinyl for promotions or product launches - Hanging signs, posters, or banner stands for sidewalk messaging Well-designed window and door graphics can turn passive foot traffic into curious new customers. Use this space to reflect your brand personality while teasing what’s inside. ## 2. Entry Zone: Make a Bold First Impression The entry zone sets the tone for everything that follows. It’s the transition point between the outside world and your branded environment. This area should feel intentional, inviting, and clearly aligned with your brand’s voice. Think of this space as your “opening statement” to every visitor. **Permanent graphics:** - Wall murals that introduce your brand story - Branded floor tiles or threshold vinyl that reinforces your identity - Dimensional signage that communicates professionalism and polish **Temporary graphics:** - Seasonal welcome signage - Branded mats or standing banners featuring current promotions - Floor decals pointing customers toward featured zones or collections A strong entry moment sets expectations and prepares customers for a curated shopping experience. It’s the first opportunity to build trust, reinforce your values, and establish a sense of place. ## 3. Walls & Merchandising Displays: Tell Stories and Drive Discovery Once customers step inside, the walls and shelving displays become critical tools for engagement. These surfaces help guide the shopper journey, highlight key products, and express what your brand is all about. This is where customers begin to explore and where graphics can inform, inspire, and convert. **Permanent graphics:** - Branded wall wraps that visually immerse customers in your brand world - Fixture wraps or architectural graphics that reinforce visual consistency - Header panels or lightboxes on key shelving units **Temporary graphics:** - Interchangeable shelf talkers for promotions or product info - Magnetic signage or removable panels for seasonal updates - Signage highlighting new arrivals, sustainability efforts, or customer favorites Your merchandising zones should feel curated and dynamic. Let your graphics do the work of storytelling, education, and atmosphere-setting. ## 4. Floor Graphics: Move Customers with Purpose The floor is a canvas that often goes unused. But in a well-designed retail space, it can help direct flow, call out promotions, or create playful, interactive moments that enhance the experience. Think of it as a visual guide that helps customers navigate, discover, and engage. **Permanent graphics:** - Branded wayfinding to guide customers to departments or service areas - Subtle floor accents (like repeating icons or logos) for brand cohesion **Temporary graphics:** - Removable decals for flash sales, themed events, or pop-ups - Directional arrows leading to new displays or seasonal collections - Interactive elements (e.g., footprints, path lines) to create visual storytelling With the right materials, floor graphics can be both safe and striking, adding function and flair to your retail journey. ## 5. Trial + Interactive Zones: Turn Engagement into Emotion Wherever your customers interact with your products, whether it’s trying on clothes or tasting a sample, you have a chance to create an emotional connection. These zones should feel immersive, helpful, and 100% on-brand. **In fitting rooms:** - **Permanent:** Brand messaging, motivational quotes, mirror decals, or identity-themed murals - **Temporary**: Seasonal styling tips, campaign messages, or promotional signage **In demo or sampling stations:** - **Permanent**: Counter wraps or wall backdrops with your logo or product imagery - **Temporary**: Product-specific signage, removable ingredient callouts, or QR codes for reviews or recipes These areas invite interaction. Make them memorable, Instagram-worthy, and aligned with your larger brand story. ## 6. Checkout and Point-of-Sale: Reinforce and Upsell Your checkout space is a prime opportunity to finish strong. It’s where the sale happens, and where loyalty and trust can be cemented. Smart use of graphics here can subtly reinforce brand identity, promote add-ons, or invite repeat engagement. **Permanent graphics:** - Architectural wraps on the counter or register desk - Branded wall graphics behind the register - Fixture-mounted signage for impulse item displays **Temporary graphics:** - POS terminal wraps with loyalty info or social handles - Countertop decals for short-term promos or giveaways - Rotating inserts or signs near the line with product tips or upsells The point-of-sale is not the end of the customer experience. Think of it as the bridge to the next visit! ## 7. Exit and Last Touchpoints: Make the Experience Stick The final few steps a customer takes before leaving your store matter more than you might think. This is your chance to deliver a message that follows them out the door and sticks with them long after. **Permanent graphics:** - Thank-you wall with brand story or community values - Loyalty program signage **Temporary graphics:** - QR code decals linking to a review form, referral program, or discount code - Rotating photo-op signage or seasonal messages Consider creating a shareable moment near the exit: a photo zone, seasonal backdrop, or unexpected message that leaves a positive final impression. ## Bring Your Retail Vision to Life Your retail space is more than square footage, a place to sell your wares. It’s an extension of your brand. And in today’s competitive retail environment, it should work as hard as you do. By combining permanent brand-building graphics with flexible, campaign-based updates, you can create a space that evolves with your business while staying rooted in what makes your store unique. At Brand ink, we use premium 3M™ wrap films engineered for durability, visual clarity, and long-term performance—designed to stand up to the demands of daily driving, changing weather, and high-mileage use. While 3M™ wrap films are built to last, a little routine care goes a long way in maintaining their sharp appearance and extending their lifespan. Just like a factory paint job, your wrap benefits from smart habits that help protect its finish, color, and overall visual impact over time. In this guide, we’ll share simple, effective tips to care for your vehicle wrap—so it continues to look great and represent your brand with pride for years to come. ## What Are the Best Daily Maintenance Tips for a Vehicle Wrap? 3M™ wrap films are designed to perform in real-world conditions—from daily driving to weather exposure—and when professionally installed by Brand ink, they offer outstanding durability and longevity. But just like factory paint, even the best materials benefit from smart daily habits that help preserve their finish over time. Practicing consistent wrap care is about maintaining the visual impact of your brand. Keeping your vehicle wrap in great shape doesn’t require complicated upkeep—but small, consistent habits can make a big difference over time. These two simple routines help keep your vehicle wrap looking sharp every day: ### 1. Park Smart While 3M™ wrap films are engineered with UV resistance, limiting prolonged sun exposure can help protect color vibrancy and surface finish over the long term—especially in sunny climates. Whenever possible, choose shaded parking, covered lots, or indoor garages. This not only protects the wrap but also helps regulate surface temperature and minimizes long-term environmental stress. Don’t have a shaded spot to park? Consider alternating the direction in which you park, so that the side facing the southern sun isn’t always the same. ### 2. Keep It Clean Dirt, road salt, bug splatter, and other contaminants don’t damage your wrap instantly—but over time, they can dull the finish and shorten the visual lifespan if not removed. That’s why it’s smart to rinse or wash your wrapped vehicle regularly, especially after driving in snow or construction zones. These simple cleanups help protect your wrap’s vibrant appearance and keep your branded fleet looking polished and professional. ## What’s the Best Way to Wash a Wrapped Vehicle? One of the benefits of choosing a high-quality 3M™ film for your vehicle wrap is its impressive durability. That said, like any vehicle finish, it performs best when it’s cared for properly. Routine cleaning not only maintains a polished, professional appearance—it also helps preserve the integrity and vibrancy of your vehicle wrap over time. Here’s how to wash your wrapped vehicle the right way: ### 1. Hand Washing Is the Gold Standard For everyday maintenance, a gentle hand wash is the most effective and wrap-safe method. Use a soft sponge or microfiber cloth, clean water, and a mild car wash soap that doesn’t contain abrasive or strong chemical ingredients. Avoid using rough brushes or scouring pads, which may dull the surface or damage the film. This approach helps maintain your wrap’s clean, bold finish and keeps branding sharp. ### 2. Pressure Washing (When Necessary) While hand washing is recommended, pressure washing is acceptable when done with care. If you choose this method, follow these 3M™-approved guidelines to ensure your wrap remains in great condition: - Keep pressure under 2000 psi - Use a 40-degree wide spray nozzle - Maintain a minimum distance of 12 inches from the surface - Always spray at a perpendicular angle to avoid edge lifting - Do not use hot water, and avoid directing water at seams, overlaps, or panel edges Using these best practices, pressure washing can be a safe and efficient option—especially for fleet vehicles or during the winter months. ### 3. Skip the Brush Washes Automated car washes with spinning brushes are not recommended, as they can scratch the film. If a car wash is necessary, opt for a touchless system, which relies on water and cleaning agents rather than physical contact. Still, when time and weather allows, a hand wash remains the best way to maintain the finish and visual quality of your wrap. ### 4. Avoid Car Washes in Extreme Cold if You Have Perforated Window Graphics If your vehicle includes perforated window graphics, it’s best to avoid car washes when temperatures fall below 20°F. These films are covered with an overlaminate that doesn’t fully contact the glass surface underneath. In rare cases—particularly when an exceptionally hot car wash is used during extremely cold weather—the rapid temperature change can cause thermal shock between the film’s perforations and the underlying graphic. The result? You may notice the clear laminate within the perforated holes start to flake away over time. While the printed image will remain intact and the glass won’t be damaged, the window graphic may take on a patchy or worn appearance. To avoid this, it’s safer to delay washing until temperatures rise above freezing, or hand wash your vehicle with care. ## How Do You Remove Stains from a Vehicle Wrap? To maintain your wrap’s pristine appearance, it’s important to address stains and contaminants promptly. Regular attention ensures your vehicle wrap continues to represent your brand with excellence. ### 1. Pay Immediate Attention to Contaminants Substances like bird droppings, tree sap, bug splatter, and fuel spills are not only unsightly but can also degrade the vinyl and adhesive if left unattended. To prevent potential staining or damage: - **Act Quickly**: As soon as you notice any of these contaminants, gently wipe them off using a soft, lint-free cloth. - **Follow Up with Cleaning**: After removal, hand wash the affected area with mild detergent and water, rinse thoroughly, and dry. This process helps eliminate any residual substances that might harm the wrap. ### 2. Use Gentle Spot Cleaning Techniques For more stubborn stains or residues: - **Soften the Contaminant**: Apply warm, soapy water to the area and let it sit for several minutes to loosen the substance. - **Gentle Cleaning Solutions**: If needed, use a solution of 70% isopropyl alcohol and 30% water. Always test any cleaning solution on a small, inconspicuous section of the wrap first to ensure it doesn’t affect the finish. - **Avoid Abrasive Tools**: Do not use rough scrubbing pads or abrasive tools, as they can scratch or damage the film. By promptly addressing contaminants and using appropriate cleaning methods, you can maintain the vibrant look and extend the life of your 3M™ vehicle wrap. Regular care ensures that your wrapped vehicle remains a compelling and professional representation of your brand. ## How Do You Protect a Vehicle Wrap in Winter and Summer Weather? If you’re driving in the Minneapolis–St. Paul area, you know how extreme the weather can be. From icy roads and road salt in the winter to humid, sun-soaked summers, vehicles in the Twin Cities are exposed to some of the most wide-ranging conditions in the country. The good news? 3M™ vehicle wrap films are built for durability in all climates—and Brand Ink’s professional installation ensures your wrap is prepared for it. Still, a few season-specific care habits can help preserve your wrap’s appearance and longevity year-round. ### Winter Vehicle Wrap Care in Cold, Snowy Conditions 3M™ wrap films are designed to handle harsh winter conditions, but a little extra care goes a long way when snow, ice, and de-icing agents are in play. - **Rinse more frequently to remove road salt.** Salt and de-icing chemicals can build up quickly in winter, especially along the lower panels of the vehicle. Routine rinsing helps prevent buildup that could dull the finish. - **Use soft snow brushes—not ice scrapers—on wrapped surfaces.** Traditional ice scrapers can scratch or catch the edge of the film. When removing snow or ice, stick to **soft-bristled brushes or foam snow pushers** to avoid damaging the surface or seams. - **Avoid using hot water to melt ice.** Sudden temperature changes can stress the material. Stick with safe physical removal using the right tools. ### Summer Vehicle Wrap Care in Heat and Sun 3M™ advanced wrap films include UV-resistant properties, but excessive sun and high temperatures—especially during Minnesota’s humid summers—can still take a toll on any vehicle surface. - **Park in the shade whenever possible.** While the wrap itself can withstand heat, extended sun exposure may accelerate surface fading over time. Covered parking or shaded spots help protect the visual integrity of the wrap. - **Avoid touching or tugging at edges on hot days.** Like most adhesives, wrap film can soften slightly in extreme heat. Avoid touching seams or edges when the surface is hot to the touch to maintain proper adhesion over time. - **Maintain a regular wash schedule.** Dust, pollen, and bug splatter are more common in the summer and can bake onto hot surfaces. Regular hand washing helps preserve your wrap’s appearance and makes cleaning easier. Whether you’re navigating winter road salt or peak summer heat, a few weather-aware habits help keep your wrap looking great year-round. These care tips complement the built-in durability of 3M™ films and protect the quality installation provided by Brand ink—ensuring your vehicle continues to look sharp, season after season. ## How Often Should You Inspect Your Vehicle Wrap and What Should You Look For? A well-maintained, professionally installed vehicle wrap—like those applied by Brand ink using 3M™ films—can last between 6 to 9 years with proper care. That [longevity is one of the key advantages of wrapping your vehicle](https://brandink.com/the-lifespan-and-durability-of-vehicle-wraps/ "The Lifespan and Durability of Vehicle Wraps: What to Expect"), especially when backed by a 3M™ MCS™ Warranty and Brand Ink’s own six-year workmanship warranty. But just like any investment, a little attention along the way can help prevent interruptions and keep your wrap performing at its best. Rather than worrying about costly repairs, regular inspections are about minimizing downtime. If you’re using your vehicle for business, even a short service window can interrupt operations. While Brand ink offers quick turnaround times, larger repairs or replacements can take longer and leave you without your branded vehicle during that time. By catching small issues early, you help avoid preventable delays and keep your vehicle on the road, where it belongs. ### What to Look For During Routine Wrap Inspections We recommend giving your wrapped vehicle a quick once-over every few weeks or after a long road trip. Here’s what to keep an eye on. #### Visual Wrap Maintenance Checklist: - **Edges and Seams:** Check for lifting, peeling, or separation—especially around door handles, wheel wells, bumpers, and corners. - **Surface Bubbles:** Look for new bubbling or air pockets, which may indicate adhesion loss or trapped moisture. - **Fading or Discoloration:** While 3M™ films resist UV damage, uneven fading or dulling may suggest prolonged sun exposure. - **Cracking or Tearing:** Scan for fine cracks, especially on curves or edges, where stress is highest. - **Contaminant Damage:** Check for etched or stained areas from bug splatter, bird droppings, or fuel spills that weren’t removed promptly. If you notice any of these signs, it’s worth contacting Brand ink early. Proactive attention can often keep a minor issue from becoming a major one. Thanks to Brand ink’s industry-leading warranties and use of trusted 3M™ wrap films, most clients won’t experience serious issues in the first several years of ownership. But as a business owner, your time is money—so preventing unplanned downtime is worth the quick visual check. With consistent care and a few simple inspections, you can maximize the life and value of your wrap, keeping your vehicle (and your brand) in front of the people who matter most. ## Keep Your Wrap Looking Its Best—Partner with the Experts at Brand Ink Your vehicle wrap is one of the hardest-working tools in your brand toolkit—showcasing your business every time it hits the road. Every vehicle in your fleet has the potential to be a moving billboard. Whether your truck is pulling into a client’s driveway, stopped at an intersection, or parked in front of a job site, it’s being seen by potential customers who live and work in the area. And that visibility matters. In-home service vehicles spend hours every day on the road and in neighborhoods, making them powerful opportunities to build brand awareness and community trust. In this blog, we’ll explore how to think strategically about your [vehicle wraps](https://brandink.com/service/commercial-vehicle-wrap/ "Commercial Vehicle Wrap") so that every drive, job site, and parking spot becomes a chance to attract attention, build recognition, and increase customer engagement. ## How Can Vehicle Wraps Help You Reach More Local Customers? When one of your trucks pulls up to a new customer’s home, your wrap is the first part of your business they interact with. Before a technician even knocks on the door, the vehicle in the driveway communicates who you are, what you do, and what kind of professionalism the customer can expect. A clean, well-designed vehicle wrap builds immediate trust. It tells the homeowner they’ve hired a company that takes pride in its work, down to the details. That matters not only for first impressions, but for what happens next. When a neighbor walks by or drives past and sees your branded vehicle at the house down the street, they’re more likely to take notice. Later, if they need the same service, they may ask the homeowner how the experience went. That on-the-spot referral is often what turns a casual impression into your next job. This is where the true power of vehicle wraps begins to show: they don’t just brand your fleet. They build brand recognition and trust in the neighborhoods you serve, even among people who haven’t hired you yet. Beyond first impressions, professionally wrapped vehicles offer a range of practical benefits for home service businesses: - **They’re cost-effective.** Compared to digital, print, or billboard advertising, vehicle wraps offer long-term brand exposure with a comparably smaller investment. Vehicle wraps also have the added benefit of protecting your vehicles. - **They’re non-intrusive.** Wraps don’t disrupt your audience’s day, the way that some forms of digital advertising can. They catch attention naturally in driveways, neighborhoods, and traffic, creating brand impressions without needing to fight for clicks or interrupt content. - **They promote consistency.** A unified, branded fleet reinforces professionalism while creating repeated, recognizable impressions across your service area. The more consistently your brand is seen from neighborhood to neighborhood, the more likely it is to be remembered when someone needs your services. With the right design and execution, vehicle wraps turn your daily operations into an ongoing, high-visibility marketing campaign, one that builds recognition, trust, and reputation every mile of the way. ## What Makes for a High-Impact Vehicle Wrap Design? A vehicle wrap is only as effective as its design. It needs to catch attention quickly, communicate clearly, and leave a lasting impression all while your vehicle is in motion or parked on a busy street. In many cases, you only have a few seconds to deliver your message. That’s why simplicity, clarity, and consistency are key. Here’s how to create commercial vehicle wraps that works hard for your business: ### Display Your Business Name and Logo Prominently Your company name and logo should be the first thing people notice. They establish who you are and set the tone for everything else. Position them in a spot that’s visible from a distance, ideally on both sides and the rear of the vehicle for maximum exposure. ### Use Consistent Branding Across Your Fleet Consistency helps build recognition over time. Use your established brand colors, fonts, and visual style to ensure that all vehicles in your fleet present a unified identity. Repetition builds familiarity, and familiarity builds trust. ### Ensure Legibility at a Glance Your wrap needs to be readable while the vehicle is moving or parked across the street. Stick with large, bold fonts and high-contrast colors that are easy to see from a distance. Avoid cluttered designs, small text, or overly decorative fonts that may look appealing up close but are difficult to process in real-world conditions. ### Include Easy-to-Find and Easy-to-Remember Contact Information Display your phone number and website in a clear, legible location, typically near the rear or side panel. Make sure they’re large enough to read quickly, but not so large that they overpower the rest of your design. Remember: most viewers will only have a few seconds to take action. For the same reason, the simpler—and therefore, easier to remember—your phone number and web address are, the better. ### Highlight Key Services (But Keep It Simple) Rather than listing everything you offer, focus on your most important or most recognizable services. A short service line like “Plumbing | Drain Cleaning” or “Heating & Cooling Experts” gives potential customers enough context to know whether you’re relevant to their needs. Overloading your wrap with too much information dilutes your message and reduces overall impact. One easy way to include this is to make sure your services of focus are included in your logo or branding. ### Build Trust with Strategic Callouts Small touches can make a big difference in building credibility. Consider including brief trust-building phrases like “Locally Owned,” “Licensed & Insured,” or icons for certifications and affiliations (e.g., BBB Accredited, NATE Certified, etc.). These elements help validate your professionalism, especially for first-time customers. ### Tie Into Digital Marketing with a QR Code or Custom URL You can take your vehicle wraps a step further by connecting them to your digital marketing efforts. Consider substituting your main website URL for a brief, memorable URL (like yourwebsite.com/special) or a QR code that links directly to a landing page, offer, or service request form. Just be sure these elements don’t distract from your core message, and make sure they’re easy to scan or remember at a glance. A positive brand interaction is the priority here, so if you cannot execute this flawlessly then it’s best to just provide your main website address. **An effective vehicle wrap doesn’t try to say everything. It says the right things, the right way, to the right audience.** With a well-thought-out design, your wrap becomes a professional, high-performing extension of your brand wherever your team goes. ## Why Professional Wrap Design and Installation Matters A vehicle wrap is an extension of your brand. And just like any other part of your business, how it’s executed matters. While it may be tempting to treat a wrap like a job you can hand to any designer and installer, commercial vehicle graphics require a level of strategy, precision, and experience that only a professional can bring. ### Professional Wrap Designers Know How to Balance What Matters Most An experienced vehicle wrap designer does more than just make things look good—they know how to balance all the key elements: your brand identity, legibility in motion, key messaging, and strategic placement of logos, contact info, and services. They’ll help you think through how your design will appear in different real-world settings: - How does it look when the vehicle is moving through an intersection? - Is it still legible when parked across the street? - Will the design draw attention when the vehicle is partially blocked in a driveway? A professional understands that vehicle wraps need to work in motion, from multiple angles, and at varying distances all while reinforcing your brand. ### Professional Wrap Designers Ensure Consistency Across a Mixed Fleet If your business has more than one type of vehicle—vans, pickups, trailers, or compact service cars—a professional wrap designer knows how to adapt your brand consistently across them all. They understand how to scale and reposition key elements so that your brand identity remains cohesive, no matter the shape or size of the vehicle. That level of attention to consistency strengthens your brand and builds recognition faster, especially in the communities you serve regularly. ### Poor Installation Can Undermine a Great Design Even the best-designed wrap will fall flat if it’s installed poorly. Misaligned panels, wrinkles, bubbles, or visible seams immediately send the wrong message—one of carelessness, inexperience or a lack of attention to detail. For service businesses, first impressions matter, and your vehicle is often your first handshake with a customer. If your wrap looks sloppy, it reflects directly on your professionalism. ### Expert Installation Reflects Your Commitment to Quality Professional installers understand how to handle different vehicle surfaces, curves, and panel transitions. They use proper tools and materials to ensure clean edges, durable adhesion, and a flawless finish. Details like panel alignment, edge sealing, and material quality aren’t just technical. They signal the level of care you bring to your work. A professional wrap partner ensures your vehicles aren’t just branded—they’re branded correctly, helping you build trust and attract customers every time your fleet hits the road. ## Start Planning to Maximize the Impact of Your Fleet Wraps You don’t need to wrap your entire fleet at once to see results, but you do need a strategy. Whether you’re working with a limited budget or scaling your efforts over time, the key is to plan intentionally from the start. When you think of your vehicles as part of a larger branding system, not just a form of transportation, you can make smart decisions that stretch your investment and strengthen your visibility. ### Prioritize High-Visibility Vehicles First If you’re wrapping your fleet in phases, start with the vehicles that rack up the most impressions—larger trucks, box vans, or those assigned to high-traffic routes. These are the vehicles that spend the most time on the road or parked in visible areas, making them ideal for generating awareness quickly. ### Consider Adding Flexibility with Seasonal or Campaign-Based Graphics For service businesses that run limited-time offers or seasonal campaigns, consider adding removable vinyl overlays or magnetic graphics to your wraps. These elements allow you to promote time-sensitive messaging without committing to a full redesign. When the campaign ends, your base wrap remains intact and professional. ### Track Customer Mentions and Leads from Your Vehicles One of the best ways to measure wrap effectiveness is to ask new customers how they heard about you. This is where that QR code or custom URL we mentioned earlier are particularly helpful— to track leads that come specifically from vehicle visibility. Over time, this will help you quantify the return on your wrap investment and make smarter marketing decisions, including any future wrap redesigns when the time comes. ### Protect Your Investment with Regular Maintenance Like any marketing asset, your wraps require care to stay impactful. Regular cleaning and prompt repairs help preserve both the visual quality and lifespan of your graphics. A poorly maintained wrap can hurt your brand just as easily as a clean, vibrant one can enhance it. So, make sure you have a plan in place to take care of your wraps, just as you have a plan in place to take care of the vehicles themselves. Make sure it’s working as hard for your business as your team is. A well-designed, professionally installed wrap doesn’t just make your vehicles look sharp. It builds trust, generates brand awareness, and makes a lasting impression wherever you go. With the right strategy, your vehicles become one of your most powerful marketing tools, creating visibility in the neighborhoods you serve and reinforcing your reputation with every mile. **Ready to get more out of your fleet?** [Contact Brand ink](https://brandink.com/contact-us/ "Contact Us") to talk about how we can help you design, install, and maintain wraps that elevate your brand and drive real results. --- Brand ink is proud to serve businesses and individuals across the Greater Minneapolis-St. Paul metro with professional vehicle wrap services. But like any investment, it’s essential to understand how to maximize their lifespan and maintain their appearance. While a [professionally installed vehicle wrap](https://brandink.com/brand-inks-large-format-printing-services/commercial-vehicle-wraps/ "Commercial Vehicle Wraps") can last several years, its durability depends on various factors, including material quality, installation, and care. This guide covers what influences vehicle wrap longevity and provides tips to keep your brand vibrant on the road. ## How Long Do Vehicle Wraps Last? On average, a high-quality, professionally installed vehicle wrap lasts between 6 to 9 years, provided it receives proper care and maintenance. Brand ink uses premium 3M™ vinyl, backed by the trusted 3M™ MCS™ Warranty, ensuring wraps maintain their look and performance over time. Brand Ink also offers its own six-year warranty on every project, providing clients with an additional layer of protection and confidence that their wrap investment will last. ### Factors That Can Extend or Shorten a Wrap’s Lifespan While the right materials and installation are essential, your driving habits and environmental conditions also play a role in a wrap’s longevity. - **Factors That Can Extend a Wrap’s Life:** - Living in a part of the country with lower UV exposure - Regular cleaning with non-abrasive products - Storing the vehicle in a garage or shaded area - **Factors That Can Shorten a Wrap’s Life:** - Consistent exposure to intense sun, especially close to the equator - Using car washes with brushes or pads, as they often have rocks or pebbles embedded in them, scratching the wrap surface (they also do this to paint) - Using high-powered pressure washers at a very close proximity to the vehicle surface, particularly near edges and overlaps - Neglecting regular maintenance or using harsh cleaning agents - Using car washes in extremely cold weather temperatures. - If it’s 6 degrees out and you go through a car wash, this won’t be a problem for the solid-wrapped surfaces of the vehicle, but it can be harmful to any perforated window graphics you may have. By understanding these variables, you can take proactive steps to maximize your wrap’s longevity. ## Key Factors Affecting Vehicle Wrap Durability The lifespan of a vehicle wrap depends on a variety of factors, each playing a role in how well your wrap endures over time. By understanding these factors, you can make informed decisions that maximize the investment in your business’ wraps. ### Material Quality The durability of your vehicle wrap is directly tied to the quality of materials used. Premium materials, like the 3M™ vinyl used by Brand ink, are designed to resist environmental wear such as UV rays, moisture, and temperature fluctuations. High-quality materials prevent fading, peeling, and cracking, ensuring your wrap remains vibrant and professional for years. ### Installation Expertise A professional installation is essential to your wrap’s longevity. Certified experts, like Brand Ink’s installation team, ensure the wrap adheres flawlessly to your vehicle, reducing the risk of peeling or premature wear. Improper installation can lead to air pockets, uneven edges, or poor adhesion, which shortens the life of the wrap. ### Environmental Exposure External elements, such as UV rays, can damage the wrap over time. Taking steps to shield your vehicle from environmental exposure can significantly extend the wrap’s lifespan. Some ways you can protect your wrap against environmental damage are: - **Park in shaded areas** to reduce UV exposure and prevent fading - **Use a vehicle cover** for added protection when parked outdoors - **Wash your vehicle regularly** to remove dirt, salt, and contaminants - **Avoid high-pressure washes** **or harsh chemicals** that can degrade the wrap - **Clean gasoline spills immediately** to prevent adhesive degradation ## How to Care for Your Vehicle Wrap Proper care and maintenance is key to preserving your vehicle wrap’s appearance. By following these simple care tips, you can significantly extend its lifespan, preventing premature wear and keep the wrap looking like new. ### Regular Cleaning Cleaning your wrapped vehicle regularly is essential. Handwashing is the best method, as it reduces the risk of scratches. Avoid automatic car washes with brushes, as they can damage the vinyl. Follow these steps to clean your wrap properly: 1. Rinse the vehicle to remove loose dirt. 2. Use a soft sponge or cloth with a mild, non-abrasive detergent. 3. Rinse thoroughly to remove all soap residue. 4. Dry with a microfiber cloth to prevent streaks or water spots. Avoid using abrasive materials or harsh chemicals, as they can damage the wrap over time. ## Benefits of Refreshing Your Wrap Replacing your vehicle wrap isn’t just about maintaining its look. It’s also an opportunity to upgrade your brand’s presence. A new wrap can include fresh design elements, messaging, or branding that aligns with your current business goals. Some key benefits of refreshing your wrap include: - **Revitalize brand visuals**: A new wrap design can incorporate updated logos, colors, or imagery that align with your brand’s latest look and feel. - **Add timely messaging**: Highlight new services, promotions, or company values to keep your branding relevant and engaging. - **Reflect brand growth**: As your business grows, a refreshed wrap can communicate your brand’s growth and renewed commitment to quality, keeping your marketing aligned with current brand guidelines. Regularly updating your wrap ensures that your vehicle stays on-brand, eye-catching, and impactful as it represents your business on the road. ## Keep Your Brand Visible with a Long-Lasting Wrap A high-quality vehicle wrap is a powerful marketing tool that boosts brand visibility. With the right care and maintenance, it can last for years, delivering effective advertising wherever your vehicles go. Does it foster collaboration and align employees with your company’s mission? The design of an office plays a critical role in shaping how employees engage with their work, collaborate with colleagues, and connect to your organization’s goals. As modern workplaces continue to evolve, businesses are recognizing the role of environmental design in shaping the employee experience. From bold branded murals that communicate company values to thoughtfully placed wayfinding graphics that enhance workplace flow, corporate office graphics go beyond decoration. They serve as a visual extension of your company’s identity, creating engaging spaces where employees feel connected, inspired, and ready to perform at their best. ## The Impact of Office Environment on Employee Mindset and Creativity While factors like leadership and company policies play a significant role in workplace experience, the design of the office itself can influence how employees feel, think, and collaborate. [Architectural graphics](https://brandink.com/brand-inks-large-format-printing-services/architectural-graphic-solutions/ "Architectural Graphic Solutions") can be used in corporate offices to reinforce company values, spark new ideas, and create an inspiring atmosphere that supports focus, collaboration, and productivity. Thoughtfully designed visual elements help set the tone for innovation, while branded messaging fosters a sense of purpose. While office design alone won’t dictate employee engagement or job satisfaction, a visually stimulating and brand-aligned environment can contribute to a more positive workplace, providing the backdrop for creativity and collaboration to thrive. ### Encouraging Creativity and Innovation Creativity flourishes in environments that feel dynamic, open, and engaging. A workspace filled with blank, uninspiring walls can stifle new ideas, while thoughtfully designed office graphics can help stimulate creative thinking and encourage collaboration. When employees are surrounded by a workspace that feels energetic and inspiring, it encourages them to think beyond the ordinary and engage in problem-solving with renewed enthusiasm. - **Incorporate abstract designs and bold visuals** to break the monotony of a traditional office setting. Artistic murals, colorful geometric patterns, and fluid designs can help inspire fresh ideas. - **Designate creative spaces with writable surfaces and interactive elements**. Wall graphics that include dry-erase boards or chalkboard walls foster real-time brainstorming and idea-sharing. - **Use environmental graphics to define innovation zones**. Highlight areas meant for creative thinking—such as project rooms or collaboration hubs—through visual cues that reinforce their purpose. ### Strengthening Connection to Company Values and Culture A well-designed office should tell a story—one that reinforces a company’s mission, values, and vision. Employees who feel connected to their workplace are more likely to take pride in their contributions and stay engaged in their roles. By integrating these elements into office design, businesses create an environment that reminds employees why they do what they do, helping them feel more invested in the company’s long-term success. - **Showcase company milestones and achievements** through environmental graphics that highlight key successes, client partnerships, or historical moments. - **Incorporate brand messaging and values** into wall murals or window graphics to reinforce the company’s purpose in a visually engaging way. - **Design graphics that reflect the company’s industry and expertise**, creating a space that feels tailored to the business and its identity. ![Internal wall mural displaying a graphic that highlights core 3M principles, with the largest words reading "customer at our core."](https://brandink.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/03/20190530_183414_1080x720-1024x683.jpg "20190530_183414_1080x720 | Brand Ink")### Creating a Positive and Engaging Atmosphere Strategic use of graphics, color, and imagery can help shape the mood of the office, making it more inviting and engaging. A well-curated office environment demonstrates a company’s commitment to fostering a workplace where employees feel valued—one that sparks creativity, strengthens culture, and makes each day in the office more engaging. - **Incorporate uplifting visuals** such as nature-inspired imagery, abstract patterns, or vibrant designs that promote a positive mindset. - **Use color strategically** to define different areas of the office—warm colors can energize, cool tones can promote calm, and neutral hues can create balance. - **Introduce motivational messaging** in key areas such as break rooms, common spaces, or near workstations to reinforce a positive and encouraging atmosphere. ![Meeting room wall wrapped in bright and colorful vinyl.](https://brandink.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/03/Featured_3M_20220315_154340_1500x1000-1024x683.jpg "Featured_3M_20220315_154340_1500x1000 | Brand Ink")## Office Graphics That Boost Creativity and Motivation From branded murals that tell a company’s story to interactive writable surfaces that encourage brainstorming, the right office graphics play a crucial role in shaping workplace motivation. Different types of corporate graphics can enhance creativity and foster a more engaging work environment. Some of these include: ### Flexible Graphics for Agile Workspaces Modern workplaces need to adapt quickly to shifting priorities, and office graphics should support that flexibility. Interchangeable and writable surfaces give teams the freedom to adjust their workspace as needed, keeping creative energy flowing. - **Writable walls for brainstorming and collaboration**: Dry-erase walls and chalkboard murals turn blank spaces into idea-generation zones where employees can sketch out concepts in real-time. - **Swappable wall graphics for evolving messaging**: Repositionable wall graphics allow businesses to update branding, showcase new initiatives, or highlight seasonal themes without long-term commitment. ### Wayfinding Graphics to Encourage Movement and Engagement Encouraging physical movement in the workplace keeps energy levels high and enhances collaboration. Wayfinding graphics help employees navigate the space intuitively while reinforcing brand identity. - **Strategic placement of directional signage**: Floor decals, wall graphics, and overhead signage guide employees toward collaboration areas, quiet zones, or break spaces. - **Encouraging interaction through visual cues**: Graphics that lead employees to creative hubs or teamwork areas naturally encourage engagement. - **Enhancing spatial organization with branded wayfinding**: Branded directional signage makes navigating the workspace effortless while reinforcing the company’s visual identity. ### Window and Glass Graphics for Privacy & Aesthetic Appeal Corporate offices often need to strike a balance between openness and privacy. Window and glass graphics offer a way to define spaces while maintaining a bright and modern feel. - **Frosted or branded window films** provide privacy in meeting rooms and individual offices without creating an enclosed, isolating feel. - **Decorative glass graphics** add visual interest while reinforcing branding in common areas and collaboration spaces. - **Translucent or patterned designs** allow natural light to filter through while maintaining confidentiality where needed. ![Two offices side by side with front-facing glass walls covered in artfully designed window decals for privacy.](https://brandink.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/03/3M_20220318_150909_1000x550.jpg "3M_20220318_150909_1000x550 | Brand Ink")### Environmental Graphics to Reflect Company Identity A company’s office should feel unique to its brand, and custom environmental graphics help achieve that. Whether celebrating company history, client success stories, or industry innovation, well-designed environmental branding makes the space feel like an extension of the business’s values. - **Showcase company achievements** with timeline walls or feature installations that highlight key moments in the brand’s journey. - **Highlight industry expertise** with graphics that reflect the company’s impact, core services, or customer testimonials. - **Create an immersive brand experience** that resonates with both employees and visitors, reinforcing company culture in every part of the space. ### Branded Wall Murals for Inspiration & Company Culture Whether showcasing the company’s mission, key milestones, or core values, large-scale murals can help employees feel more connected to the organization’s purpose. - **Encourage inspiration with bold visuals**: Large-scale graphics with motivational quotes, brand storytelling, or artistic representations of company values serve as daily reminders of purpose. - **Reinforce company culture and pride**: A visually engaging workspace helps employees feel like they are part of something bigger, strengthening team identity. ## How to Get Started with Custom Corporate Graphics Incorporating custom office graphics is a strategic decision that enhances creativity, reinforces company culture, and shapes the workplace experience. Whether you want to inspire employees, improve wayfinding, or create a branded environment, the right graphics can make a lasting impact. But where should you begin? ### 1. Assessing Your Needs: Identifying Key Areas for Impact Before diving into design, it’s essential to assess where and how office graphics can have the greatest effect. Consider the purpose of each space and the type of experience you want to create for employees and visitors. A thoughtful approach to placement ensures that every graphic contributes to the workspace’s overall functionality and atmosphere. - **Define key objectives**: Are you looking to enhance creativity in brainstorming areas, reinforce company culture in common spaces, or improve focus in work zones? - **Identify high-visibility areas**: Reception areas, collaboration hubs, and conference rooms are prime locations for bold branding and inspiring visuals. - **Consider functional enhancements**: Writable walls, wayfinding signage, and privacy graphics can add both aesthetic and practical value to your office. ### 2. Choosing the Right Materials: Aligning Graphics with Your Office Environment Choosing the right material is key to achieving both durability and design impact. Selecting the right materials ensures that your graphics not only look great but also serve a functional purpose in your workspace. - **Wall Murals & Branding**: Digitally printed murals bring color, depth, and brand storytelling to office walls. Choose materials suited for long-term use or removable options for adaptable spaces. - **Writable & Interactive Surfaces**: Dry-erase and chalkboard graphics support collaboration and brainstorming in meeting rooms and innovation areas. - **Window & Glass Graphics**: Frosted films and privacy decals help create secluded workspaces while maintaining an open, modern feel. - **Wayfinding & Floor Graphics**: Directional signage enhances navigation, especially in large or multi-use office environments. ### 3. Partnering with Experts: Seamless Execution from Concept to Installation To maximize the impact of your office graphics, it’s crucial to work with experienced professionals who understand the balance between design, brand identity, and workspace functionality. With the right partner, transforming your office into a dynamic, engaging environment becomes an effortless process. - **Collaborate with specialists**: Brand ink’s team guides businesses through the entire process, from design concept to installation, ensuring a tailored approach that aligns with your goals. - **Ensure quality production**: High-resolution printing and durable materials ensure that office graphics remain vibrant and long-lasting. - **Trust expert installation**: Proper placement and seamless application make the difference between an ordinary office and a professionally branded, inspiring workspace. ![A Brand Ink installer places vinyl decals on an internal window in an office space.](https://brandink.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/03/IMG_1280_2048x1152-1024x576.jpg "IMG_1280_2048x1152 | Brand Ink")## Bring Your Vision to Life with Brand Ink Strategic office graphics enhance workplace creativity, motivation, and brand identity, making a tangible impact on employee experience. Bare walls. A sterile lobby. Cubicles as far as the eye can see. Fortunately, a few well-designed office wall coverings are all it takes to breathe some much-needed life into your workplace. Wall coverings for offices are also a great way to improve your company culture and remind your team what they’re all working towards. But what does a great wall wrap design entail? For starters, check out our [five pro tips for effective commercial wall wrap design](https://www.brandink.com/blog/5-pro-tips-for-effective-commercial-wall-wrap-design/). Then keep reading and we’ll show you eight unique office wall-covering ideas to hopefully give you the inspiration you need to transform your workplace. ## 1. REINFORCE YOUR BRANDING THROUGHOUT YOUR BUILDING ![Office Wall Coverings 1](https://brandink.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/Wall-Covering-Ideas-1-1024x576.png "Office Wall Covering Ideas 1 | Brand Ink")When most people think of office wall coverings, oversized brand names and logos (like the ones above) are what they picture—and for good reason. Adding these elements to the walls of your office is a great way to make your business look more professional and quickly assure your guests they’re in the right place. While your lobby/main entry area is a great location to start, we also recommend adding your branding to the walls of any kitchens/dining areas, communal spaces, and back entrances. ## 2. PROMINENTLY DISPLAY YOUR MISSION STATEMENT OR CORE VALUES ![Office Wall Coverings 2](https://brandink.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/Wall-Covering-Ideas-2-1024x576.png "Office Wall Covering Ideas 2 | Brand Ink")While nobody looks at their employee handbook after the first week on the job, they are sure to read their workplace walls every single day! In addition to mission statements and core values, you could also showcase your key products/services, a visual timeline of your company history, or a cultural message that’s unique to your business. We recommend pairing it with a complementary image or brand color and keeping the text clear and concise so it can be quickly read on the move. ## 3. ENCOURAGE YOUR TEAM WITH AN INSPIRING QUOTE ![Office Wall Coverings 3](https://brandink.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/Wall-Covering-Ideas-3-1024x576.png "Office Wall Covering Ideas 3 | Brand Ink")Speaking of company culture, office wall coverings are a great way to instill a more positive and supportive environment. To be clear, this doesn’t mean you should plaster a bunch of cliché quotes on your walls that are bound to make your employees cringe as they’re reminded of all those [terrible motivational posters](https://www.successories.com/search/products/30feba7cd25333/1) from decades past. Instead, try to incorporate sayings that speak specifically to your team, your business, or your industry. Trust us, it’ll be much more effective if you do. ## 4. GIVE YOUR GUESTS SOMETHING TO LOOK AT WHILE THEY WAIT ![Office Wall Coverings 4](https://brandink.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/Wall-Covering-Ideas-4-1024x576.png "Office Wall Coverings 4 | Brand Ink")As a guest, there’s nothing worse than waiting in a lobby with nothing but a bunch of blank walls and a pile of boring industry magazines to look at. By adding a new interior wall wrap to your waiting area, your visitors are sure to be in a much better mood before you even come out to greet them. Whether it’s a simple splash of color on a single wall or an elaborate mural that wraps around the entire room—that’s entirely up to you. ## 5. DECORATE THOSE DRAB DOORWAYS ![Office Wall Coverings 5](https://brandink.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/Wall-Covering-Ideas-5-1024x576.png "Office Wall Coverings 5 | Brand Ink")When it comes to most office buildings, there’s rarely a shortage of doors. Make your team members excited to pull those handles for a change by adhering an eye-catching wall wrap to one side—or both! Whether your wrap is contained to just the door itself or part of a larger design, you can take advantage of this underutilized surface to greet your employees or tease what they might find on the other side. ## 6. ADD A SPLASH OF COLOR (AND DIRECTION) TO YOUR LONG HALLWAYS ![Office Wall Coverings 6](https://brandink.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/Wall-Covering-Ideas-6-1024x576.png "Office Wall Coverings 6 | Brand Ink")If you operate in a larger building—particularly one with long, winding hallways—wall wraps are a great way to spark some life into those tired spaces. Not only can the right design draw the eye, but it can also go a long way toward distinguishing one hallway from another—which is an invaluable thing for any new employees. Speaking of navigation, your wall coverings can also help direct people to different parts of the building, taking the place of traditional signage. ## 7. ADD SOME VISUAL INTEREST TO YOUR GLASS WALLS ![Office Wall Coverings 7](https://brandink.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/Wall-Covering-Ideas-7-1024x576.png "Office Wall Coverings 7 | Brand Ink")In today’s more modern office environments, glass walls are a really effective way to open up a space while at the same time making offices and meeting rooms brighter and more inviting. But who says you need to stop there? It couldn’t be easier to add a dose of style and personality to your corporate space with a minimal and transparent window wrap like the ones above! If you fancy yourself a DIYer at heart, check out our guide on [how to install vinyl decals on windows](https://www.brandink.com/blog/how-to-install-vinyl-decals-on-windows/). ## 8. DON’T FORGET ABOUT THE BATHROOMS! ![Office Wall Coverings 8](https://brandink.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/Wall-Covering-Ideas-8-1024x576.png "Office Wall Coverings 8 | Brand Ink")While they probably aren’t (and shouldn’t be) a stop on your standard office tour, very few rooms will be visited more than the restroom—so don’t leave it out of your redesign plans! In fact, you’d probably be surprised how much the cleanliness and aesthetic of your office bathrooms can be a factor in potential hires accepting your employment offers. Remember though, bathroom breaks are a time of peace and solitude, so make sure the design you choose doesn’t take away from that. ## TRANSFORM YOUR WORKPLACE INTO A WORK OF ART WITH BRAND INK We hope these office wall-covering ideas have inspired you to refresh your workspace and remind your team every day that your company is one of the best places to work. Whether you’re looking to enhance a single window or an entire arena, professionally installed wall wraps for offices and businesses are one of the best ways to create a visually engaging environment your customers—and the world—will love. That doesn’t guarantee your designs will be a success, however. To best represent your company and get the greatest ROI on your branding investment, read our five pro tips for effective [commercial wall wrap design](https://www.brandink.com/promo/wall-wraps/). ## PRO TIP #1: ALWAYS CONSIDER THE PURPOSE OF YOUR WALL WRAP What is the primary goal of your design? Is it to promote your brand, improve navigation, or simply give your customers something nice to look at while they’re spending time in your establishment? Whatever the purpose, make sure you don’t lose track of that as you’re fleshing out your design. For instance, an elaborate design is great for a wall mural in the lobby of your building. That same level of detail, however, would be way too distracting on a navigational sign and could spell frustration for your visitors. ## PRO TIP #2: CREATE DESIGNS THAT ARE TIMELESS AND ON-BRAND When it comes to architectural wall wraps, there are two main types to choose from: temporary campaigns and evergreen artwork that will last for years to come. Only one of those options is going to make the most of your marketing dollars, and we bet you can guess which one. If your company is launching an updated logo, a new style guide, or some other form of branding initiative, that’s a perfect opportunity to refresh your workspace with matching wall graphics. While these new designs won’t last forever, it’s a much safer bet than going all-in on creative elements your company hasn’t touched in well over a decade. ![U of M Raptor Center - Lake Scene](https://brandink.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/U-of-M-Raptor-Center-Lake-Scene-1024x768.jpg "U of M Raptor Center - Lake Scene | Brand Ink") ## PRO TIP #3: MAKE ANY TEXT EASY TO READ FROM A DISTANCE Whether your wall wrap is meant to be viewed from across the room or across the street, you need to make sure any text you include is fully legible at that distance. This, of course, includes your business name, logo, and any other intricate elements you plan to include. While interior wall wraps and signage are allowed a bit more leeway in this department, if your visitors need to get so close they could reach out and touch the wall, you should probably consider enlarging your design. ## PRO TIP #4: EXTEND YOUR DESIGN BEYOND A SINGLE WALL While you might have the perfect wall picked out for your wrap, don’t feel like you need to be limited to just one blank canvas. If you’re going to spend the money to wrap your property, consider making the most of the entire space to fully maximize your ROI. If your design allows for it, you can really catch (and keep) the attention of your guests by extending your visuals around corners, onto the ceiling, and even along the length of the floor. Just be sure you plan your design around any interruptions such as doors, windows, trim, and large furniture. ![Brand Ink Interior Wall Wrap Snowy Mountains](https://brandink.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/08/Wall-Wrap-1024x809.jpg "Brand Ink Interior Wall Wrap Snowy Mountains | Brand Ink") ## PRO TIP #5: GET YOUR LANDLORD’S PERMISSION FIRST We’re well aware of the old adage, “Ask forgiveness, not permission.” The thing is, when it comes to altering the appearance of your rented place of business, we highly encourage the opposite wisdom. Unless you own your property outright, we recommend you reach out to your building’s landlord before moving forward with any work. Even though professionally installed wall wraps can be easily removed without causing any damage, your landlord may have a clause in your lease that restricts graphics of a certain size or in a particular area of the building. And when it comes to large, exterior signs and wraps, you may even need to get a local authority permit, so be sure to contact your local zoning office just in case. ## TAKE YOUR BRAND TO NEW HEIGHTS WITH BRAND INK Even an award-winning recipe can be ruined by an inexperienced chef. If you’ve spent the time and energy to create [the perfect wall wrap](https://www.brandink.com/promo/wall-wraps) for your office—don’t throw it all away by hiring the cheapest installer in town. And if you’re looking for professional assistance with your design, all the more reason to choose a company that knows all the rules of architectural graphic design—and when to break them. Whether you’re looking to breathe life into a new brand or take your growing business to the next level, our team of professional designers, manufacturers, and installers has the expertise and experience to get the job done right—the first time. If you’re reading this, it means you’ve started the process of getting your commercial vehicle or fleet branded with a high-quality vinyl wrap. It also means your business is about to attract an additional 30,000–70,000 sets of eyeballs each day, per vehicle. That doesn’t guarantee you’ll be an overnight success, however. Just because your potential customers see you, doesn’t mean they’ll remember you—and it sure doesn’t mean they’ll convert. In fact, there’s a big difference between being an instantly recognizable brand and a local eyesore. To best represent your company and get the greatest ROI on your vehicle branding investment, read our seven pro tips for effective [car wrap design](https://www.brandink.com/promo/vehicle-wraps/). ## PRO TIP #1: KEEP IT SIMPLE A good rule of thumb here is to treat each side of your vehicle less like a brochure and more like a billboard. In case you’ve never designed an out-of-home advertisement before, [industry best practice](https://www.bmediagroup.com/news/billboard-design-best-practices/) says to use fewer than seven words and three visual elements. Of course, you can probably get away with a bit more than that since—unlike billboards—you’re likely to be moving with your audience. Simply put: Identify your most important information and stick to that. **Your commercial vehicle design should include:** - Your company name - Your logo - A compelling image - A brief tagline or description of your business - Your contact information - And nothing else! ## PRO TIP #2: DESIGN THE ENTIRE VEHICLE Speaking of billboards, your company vehicle isn’t just the one blank canvas—it’s up to five! Your brand message can be viewed from the front, back, both sides, and—in some cases—from above. ![fleet wrap vehicle example](https://brandink.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/fully-wrapped-vehicle.jpg "fleet wrap vehicle example | Brand Ink") If you’re going to spend the money to wrap your vehicle, make the most of the entire vehicle to maximize your ROI. Just keep in mind that most people are only going to look at one side, so make sure your most important information (see above) is included on every surface. ## PRO TIP #3: MAKE IT EASY TO READ Unless you want your drivers to be constantly tailgated, make sure the text you include in your design is large enough to read from a reasonable distance. While the “safe” distance to remain behind another vehicle on the highway can range anywhere from 6–16 car lengths—depending on your speed, the road conditions, and the types of vehicles involved—your message should be readable from at least 50 feet away without too much squinting. ## PRO TIP #4: AVOID A BORING DESIGN The only thing worse than overcrowding your design is making it so minimal and bland that literally zero eyes get drawn to it. Even if you’re the most “buttoned-up” company on Earth, there are plenty of ways to attract a little attention while remaining clean and professional. Try adding a colored hood or an oversized graphic of a satisfied customer and you’ll be surprised how many more phone calls you receive each month. ## PRO TIP #5: INVEST IN PROFESSIONAL PHOTOGRAPHY It might be tempting to browse a stock photography site, but these days, most people can recognize a staged stock photo a mile away. And unless you purchase exclusive rights to the image, there’s a small chance you could roll up next to the same photo on your competitor’s truck! Unless your budget is super tight, you should definitely hire a commercial photographer. The best part is, if you tell them what the photos are for, they’ll probably know which angles and lighting will work best for your design. ## PRO TIP #6: BE CONSISTENT WITH YOUR BRAND Just because red and yellow are scientifically proven to attract the most attention doesn’t mean those are the colors you should slap on your vehicle. You’ll probably just get mistaken for a McDonald’s van, which is a prime example of a company with very consistent branding. If you don’t have your own brand colors and fonts yet, now’s the time to invest in developing a brand guide because you certainly don’t want to have to re-wrap your vehicle one or two years down the road. ## PRO TIP #7: ALWAYS INCLUDE YOUR CONTACT INFORMATION If you’re convinced your customers can simply search for your contact information online, you’re forgetting one little thing: Your competitors could be bidding on your branded keywords and stealing those customers right out from under you. Avoid this by including two convenient forms of direct contact on each side of the vehicle. ![Next Day Van Brand Ink Vehicle Wrap](https://brandink.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/Next-Day-Van-1024x588.png "Next Day Van | Brand Ink") Also, you might think QR codes are slick, but you probably shouldn’t give motorists another reason to pull out their smartphones while driving. ## BRING YOUR BRAND UP TO SPEED WITH BRAND INK Whether you’re looking to breathe life into a new brand or take your growing business to the next level, our team of professional designers, manufacturers, and installers has the expertise and experience to get the job done right—the first time. After all, since vehicles have such high visibility, these can be some of the most cost-effective marketing dollars you spend. Before you go and make this important investment in your business, you want to make sure you have all the information you’ll need. As the Twin Cities’ foremost [vehicle wrap design and installation team](https://www.brandink.com/deliver/vehicle-wraps/), we’ve been approached with countless questions over the years. Read on for our most commonly asked vehicle wrap questions, with answers from Brand Ink experts. ### **WHAT IS A VEHICLE WRAP?** Also known as vehicle graphics or vinyl wraps, vehicle wraps are large graphics or decals that can be applied over the top of the paint and/or windows. Vehicle wraps can be any size, color, or finish, such as gloss, matte, pearlescent, or transparent. Compared to a custom paint job, vehicle wraps are a much faster and more cost-effective method of partially or completely changing the look of the vehicle. They can also be removed at any time to restore the original look of the vehicle, if necessary. ### **WHAT IS THE BEST VEHICLE WRAP MATERIAL?** Almost all vehicle wraps are made from a thin vinyl film. With that said, not all vehicle wraps are created equally. At Brand Ink, we only use [3M™ Commercial Vehicle Wrap](https://www.3m.com/3M/en_US/graphics-signage-us/wraps/) products due to their unmatched quality, reliability, and industry-best warranty. As such, we are a 3M MCS warranted manufacturer and certified installation company. ![Brand Ink 3M Van Vehicle Wrap](http://www.brandink.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/07/20200511_142018-1024x768.jpg "| Brand Ink")3M products look especially good on 3M vehicles. ### **HOW LONG DOES A VEHICLE WRAP LAST?** The average professionally installed vehicle wrap will last approximately five to seven years, depending on the quality of the material. Brand Ink only uses industry-leading 3M™ products that are designed to last seven years or longer without any fading. In fact, 3M guarantees our work will stand the test of time through their MCS™ Warranty program. This program covers finished graphics using products designed and tested for optimal compatibility and performance for jobs that demand the very best. ### **HOW MUCH DO VEHICLE WRAPS COST?** Vehicle wraps are unique to each application, and thus the cost can vary greatly from vehicle to vehicle. This can depend on any or all of the following: - Size of the vehicle/wrap - Vehicle model (cars with more curves, angles, and indentations are more difficult to work with) - Shape of the wrap - Quality/finish of the material - Amount of time it’s intended to be in service. While a partial wrap on a smaller vehicle can start as low as $2,000, a more exotic wrap with an elaborate finish can easily tiptoe the $10,000 mark. With that said, the industry average for a full vinyl vehicle wrap will run you anywhere from $3,500 – $6,000. ![Brand Ink exotic car vehicle wrap](http://www.brandink.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/colorful-plaid-car-1024x523.jpg "colorful plaid car | Brand Ink")The more exotic the car and the more elaborate the wrap, the more it will cost. Please [give us a call](tel:6122562786) and tell us about your project so we can recommend the most cost-effective ways to complete your wrap without compromising your goals. ### **ARE VEHICLE WRAPS WORTH IT?** Vehicle wraps are an important part of building credibility and uniform branding for your business. It’s also one of the most cost-effective methods of brand advertising, with an unbelievably low average cost per impression (CPI) of just 15¢ over the lifespan of the wrap. Compare that to the [average CPI of more traditional advertising media](https://smallbusiness.chron.com/typical-cpm-74763.html) across the United States, such as TV ($27), radio ($11), print ($25), and billboards ($9), and you’ll see just how much of a value vehicle wraps can be to your business. ### **DO VEHICLE WRAPS DAMAGE PAINT?** In short, no. Factory paint in good condition will have absolutely no issues when a vehicle wrap is professionally removed. If there is pre-existing chipped paint or rust, those will likely come off upon removal, so it’s recommended that you fix those issues before your wrap is installed. ### **IS IT NORMAL FOR VEHICLE WRAP TO HAVE WRINKLES OR BUBBLES?** The occasional wrinkle or bubble is common with any vehicle wrap, especially on severely concave or rounded surfaces. That is why professional installation is highly recommended, as experienced vinyl wrappers use special techniques designed to eliminate these minor imperfections. ### **WHAT’S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A PARTIAL AND FULL VEHICLE WRAP?** Vehicle wraps can be classified into four major categories: **Full Wrap:** A full wrap covers every painted surface of the vehicle, and any windows if necessary. On larger vehicles, a full wrap typically does not cover the roof, as this is generally not visible. **Three-Quarter Wrap:** A three-quarter wrap typically includes a hood logo, the entire rear, and the sides of the vehicle up to the front doors. **Half Wrap:** A half wrap commonly consists of a hood logo, the entire rear, and the sides of the vehicle up to the windows. **Partial Wrap:** A partial wrap is anything less than a half wrap and is often just a brand’s logo or design. ![Brand Ink partial wrap vs full wrap](https://brandink.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/truck-and-vans.jpg "truck-and-vans | Brand Ink")An example of a partial vehicle wrap (left) and a full vehicle wrap (right). ### **CAN YOU WRAP A LEASED VEHICLE?** When it comes to wrapping a leased or rented vehicle, you should always obtain permission from the owner before making any alterations. However, this is a fairly common practice, as many of the minor scratches and damage incurred during normal use will come off with the wrap when it’s time to trade in the vehicle. ### **HOW DO I WASH A WRAPPED VEHICLE?** You can wash your wrapped vehicle the same way you would a non-wrapped one. A professionally installed vehicle wrap is designed to withstand routine cleaning and inclement weather. ### **STILL HAVE QUESTIONS? BRAND INK HAS ANSWERS.** We can help. Check out our website for more [frequently asked questions](https://www.brandink.com/define/faq/). If you still can’t find the answers you’re looking for, [give us a call or send us a message](https://www.brandink.com/contact-us/) and we’d be more than happy to provide you with that information. **Categories:** Commercial Vehicle Wraps --- ### [5 Event Signage Ideas to Improve Your Attendee Experience](https://brandink.com/5-event-signage-ideas-to-improve-your-attendee-experience/) **Published:** June 24, 2021 **Author:** lanexstart **Content:** Gone are the days of big events being riddled with cookie-cutter cardboard cutouts and blink-and-you-miss-them brand posters. When it comes to your brand, creative and cutting-edge [event signage](https://www.brandink.com/deliver/signage/) is the best way to grab attention in a crowd. Architectural graphics materials and application processes have come a long way over the past few decades. Now, you can wrap your message across nearly any type of surface and let your brand become an integral part of the experience itself. Are you looking for fresh ideas for your next event or tradeshow? Here are five innovative event signage ideas to increase brand awareness and improve your attendee experience. ## 1. WELCOME YOUR GUESTS IN STYLE ![WELCOME YOUR GUESTS IN STYLE](http://www.brandink.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Super-Bowl-1024x768.jpeg "Super Bowl | Brand Ink") You know what they say about first impressions. Before your guests take even one step inside your event, make sure they’re being properly greeted by your brand. An arched display is a great way to accomplish this! It can also set the tone for your entire event and give your attendees a taste of what their day has in store for them. ## 2. IT’S OKAY TO GET DIRECTLY IN THEIR FACE ![IT’S OKAY TO GET DIRECTLY IN THEIR FACE](http://www.brandink.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/02/MEGAPHONES-2.jpg "| Brand Ink") No, we don’t mean shoving brochures and pamphlets in your guests’ faces as they walk in the gates. Rather, give them the option to become a voluntary walking billboard with creatively branded swag. Sure, branded hats and t-shirts are nothing new, and lanyards and can koozies are all the rage these days, but your handouts can be literally *anything*. It doesn’t even have to be free! If it’s something unique and fun—such as a mini basketball or megaphone—people will pay to tote it around all day. ## 3. DON’T BE AFRAID TO GET A LITTLE DIRTY ![DON’T BE AFRAID TO GET A LITTLE DIRTY](http://www.brandink.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/02/16401-050.jpg "Name | Brand Ink") There are plenty of big brands out there (we won’t name names) who are deathly afraid to have their logo associated with anything considered “unclean.” But if you’re sponsoring an event such as a rodeo or monster truck rally, a little dirt is the name of the game and can score you plenty of points with the fans. No matter the event, there is always room to wrap your brand where no one else is willing to go. Garbage cans, recycling receptacles, and porta-potties are all great examples of places your brand can really shine (comparatively, of course). ## 4. LET YOUR DESIGNS MOVE FROM ONE MEDIUM TO THE NEXT ![LET YOUR DESIGNS MOVE FROM ONE MEDIUM TO THE NEXT](http://www.brandink.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Toyota-Booth-Interior-1024x707.jpeg "Toyota-Booth-Interior | Brand Ink") Who said your event signage needed to stick to one surface? Some of the best ad campaigns of the past 10 years have seamlessly incorporated TV spots, billboards, magazine spreads, and website banners. Why should your event be any different? Your attendees are much more likely to take notice if your architectural graphics jump off the wall, splash across a free-standing sign, entangle an interactive object, and melt into the floor beneath their very feet. Sure, it takes some extra planning, but it will be totally worth the effort! ## 5. MEET YOUR GUESTS AT THEIR LEVEL ![MEET YOUR GUESTS AT THEIR LEVEL](http://www.brandink.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/08/Pacifico-Bleachers-1024x761.jpg "| Brand Ink") If every one of your graphics is positioned perfectly at eye level, you’re missing out on a significant portion of your attendees. [Architectural graphics](https://www.brandink.com/deliver/architectural-graphics/) are all the rage these days—and for good reason! People are much more likely to notice—and remember—your brand if it’s seen on an unexpected surface instead of a sign, billboard, or other common out-of-home location. But not all surfaces are ideal for applying graphics, right? The short answer is—sort of. The longer answer is that you may be surprised at how many work much better than you’d think. Here are five such surfaces that are surprisingly great for architectural graphics. ## 1. BRICK WALL GRAPHICS ![BRICK WALL GRAPHICS](http://www.brandink.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/02/IMG_0393.jpg "Wall wrap for Fierce Glass | Brand Ink") You might think a bumpy surface such as brick would be a problem for wall wraps, but you’d be dead wrong. Advancements in graphic film technology allow it to conform to even the roughest textured walls with ease. At Brand Ink, we use only the highest quality [3M™ Envision™ Textured Surface Film](https://www.3m.com/3M/en_US/p/g/commercial-solutions/graphics-signage/textured-surface-film/) that’s backed by the most complete and robust graphics warranty in the industry. That way, come wind, rain, or snow, you’ll know your brand’s logo or mural isn’t going anywhere. ## 2. ROOF GRAPHICS ![Brand Ink Roof Graphics](https://brandink.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/Aluminum-Roof.jpg "Brand Ink Roof Graphics | Brand Ink") Sometimes the best places to advertise our brands are right over our heads! Whether your rooftop is surrounded by taller buildings or squarely below a high-traffic flight path, you can catch the attention of far more eyeballs than you might think. Architectural graphics work great for permanent structures with metal, tile, cement, and other common roofing materials. They are also ideal for temporary event structures, such as the vinyl tent seen above. ## 3. CONCRETE TUNNEL GRAPHICS ![Concrete Tunnel Graphics](http://www.brandink.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/ArnoldTunnel1-1024x768.jpg "| Brand Ink") Want to make sure your brand gets noticed by passersby? Try completely surrounding them! A concrete tunnel is a great way to fully immerse pedestrians in your brand’s colors or a landscape mural of your choice. Whether the concrete is smooth or textured, Brand Ink can recommend the best product that will look great and last for years to come. ## 4. HARDWOOD FLOOR GRAPHICS ![Brand Ink Hardwood Floor Graphics](http://www.brandink.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/3M-Hoops-Lab-4-1024x768.jpg "| Brand Ink") If you’ve ever been to a basketball game or a middle school gymnasium, you’re probably already aware that hardwood floors are a great surface for applying graphics. But did you know that they’re also one of the most eye-catching and effective places to put your brand’s logo or message? [Recent studies show](https://www2.deloitte.com/us/en/insights/industry/telecommunications/connectivity-mobile-trends-survey.html) that the average American spends roughly 3.3 hours per day staring down at their handheld screen. So, while your audience is completely oblivious to your competitor’s eye-level signage, you can snag their attention with anything ranging from simple social distancing stickers to complete room transformations (as seen in the basketball court-inspired presidential hotel suite in the photo above). ## 5. GLASS DOOR AND WINDOW GRAPHICS ![Glass Window and Door Graphics](http://www.brandink.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/03/20180108_144843-1024x768.jpg "| Brand Ink") While glass is one of the best surfaces for architectural graphics, it’s also one of the most difficult to get right. Many different factors can influence the performance of the wrap, such as the quality of the materials, condition of the glass, and amount of direct sunlight. That’s why it’s important to choose an architectural graphics professional who knows what they’re doing. The other cool thing you can do with glass is to make your design visible from the outside but completely see-through from the inside. This is done by using a [special perforated film](https://www.3m.com/3M/en_US/p/d/b00026391/?preselect=8710674+8729400+8769055+8769063) that uses a continuous hole pattern to create the one-way mirror-like effect. ## LOOKING TO WRAP A UNIQUE SURFACE? Brand Ink has you covered! Our design and installation experts have applied graphics to nearly every type of surface imaginable. Whether you need a single window or an entire arena wrapped, no project is too big or too small. The fact that you’re reading this and considering doing the same to your own vehicle means you probably have. Well, fortunately, you’ve come to the right place. With a little bit of time and patience, you can make your ride scream with individuality. And the best part is—you can do it for far less than what it would cost for a custom paint job. With the right tools, materials, and guidance, you too can apply a vinyl car wrap with ease. Before you get started, though, it’s important you have everything you’ll need at the ready. ## WHAT YOU’LL NEED - [Blue Painter’s Tape](https://www.3m.com/3M/en_US/p/d/cbgnawus1611/) - [Tape Measurer](https://www.amazon.com/s?k=tape+measure&crid=2ENVNCAZUM6J7&sprefix=tape+me%2Caps%2C184&ref=nb_sb_ss_ts-doa-p_1_7) - [A Roll of Vinyl Film Car Wrap](https://www.3m.com/3M/en_US/p/d/b00021027/) - [Car Wash Soap](https://www.amazon.com/s?k=car+wash+soap&ref=nb_sb_noss_2) - [Microfiber Towel](https://www.amazon.com/s?k=lint+free+towels+for+cars&crid=NCEXAK1HIWZL&sprefix=lint+free+towel%2Caps%2C172&ref=nb_sb_ss_ts-doa-p_5_15) - [70% Isopropyl Alcohol](https://www.amazon.com/s?k=70%25+isopropyl+alcohol&crid=5W6UZCH84QLT&sprefix=70%25+is%2Caps%2C182&ref=nb_sb_ss_ts-doa-p_1_6) - [3M Primer 94](https://www.3m.com/3M/en_US/p/d/b40065491/) - [Cotton Gloves](https://www.amazon.com/s?k=cotton+gloves&ref=nb_sb_noss_2) - [Utility Knife](https://www.amazon.com/s?k=utility+knife&ref=nb_sb_noss_2) - [Felt Squeegee Applicator](https://www.amazon.com/Zanch-Squeegee-Sticker-Application-Wallpaper/dp/B08K7CGY4Q/ref=sr_1_1_sspa?dchild=1&keywords=car+vinyl+squeegee&qid=1630523752&sr=8-1-spons&psc=1&spLa=ZW5jcnlwdGVkUXVhbGlmaWVyPUEzQjhPVlRRNDVGQlJQJmVuY3J5cHRlZElkPUEwMzcyMDY0M0ZYV0dGQUdNVUk3SSZlbmNyeXB0ZWRBZElkPUEwNTAxMTI4MTBNS0RTMEdaWUNHUyZ3aWRnZXROYW1lPXNwX2F0ZiZhY3Rpb249Y2xpY2tSZWRpcmVjdCZkb05vdExvZ0NsaWNrPXRydWU=) - [Vinyl Film Cutter](https://www.amazon.com/Ehdis-Snitty-Clothing-Cutting-Application/dp/B01HEQF5KW/ref=sr_1_14?dchild=1&keywords=car+vinyl+cutter&qid=1630523667&sr=8-14) - [Heat Gun](https://www.amazon.com/s?k=heat+gun&ref=nb_sb_noss_2) ## VINYL CAR WRAP INSTALLATION GUIDE Thanks to today’s advanced vinyl technology, even a complete beginner can transform their vehicle in no time. Keep reading for our simple 10-step guide to vinyl car wrapping like a pro. ![Brand Ink Ford Mustang Car Wrap](https://brandink.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/09/20180605_192828-1024x565.jpg "20180605_192828 | Brand Ink") ### STEP 1: MEASURE YOUR VEHICLE Before you purchase any vinyl film, you’ll want to measure the panels you plan to wrap so you know exactly how much you’ll need. An easy way to do this is by using blue painter’s tape. Place the tape across the center (or longest section) of each panel, leaving about 1 inch on each end to account for the amount that will need to be tucked. Once you’ve taped each panel, remove the tape and lay it across the floor, and then use a tape measure to determine the total length you need. ### STEP 2: PURCHASE YOUR VINYL WRAP Now that you know how much film you need, it’s time to purchase your vinyl wrap material. We recommend going with [3M™ Wrap Film Series 2080](https://www.3m.com/3M/en_US/p/d/b5005081006/) due to its quality, ease of application, and variety of different colors and textures. If this is your first time wrapping a vehicle, avoid anything with a chrome finish as that’s typically the most expensive and challenging option available. Try to stick to more well-known brands of vinyl from some of the bigger companies. If you bought Vivid vinyl or another off-brand product on Amazon, put on your dancing shoes and get ready for a fight. Quality vinyl is made to look good *and* be easy to install. Cheap vinyl is only made to look good on day 1 when it comes in the mail. 3M film typically comes in lengths of 25 yards, with some suppliers able to cut custom lengths all the way down to as little as 1 yard. It’s important to find a reputable supplier who keeps their inventory fresh and in a stable temperature band, as old or poorly stored material will be dramatically harder to install and get a good result from. Always order a little extra, because accidents do happen, and you may have to redo an entire section. If you’re looking for a custom design or finish, you may need to reach out to a [vehicle wrap professional](https://www.brandink.com/deliver/vehicle-wraps/) in your area that can work one-on-one with you to create the perfect look for your vehicle. ![Brand Ink Vehicle Wrap Design](https://brandink.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/09/HP-OW-2.jpg "HP-OW 2 | Brand Ink") ### STEP 3: PREP YOUR SPACE If possible, choose a large climate-controlled indoor space such as a garage. If you try to apply your car wrap outside, you will battle wind, heat and humidity, sudden inclement weather, or sand and other particles getting underneath the wrap on install. You really don’t want any of that messing with your hard work. Also, make sure the space is clean and there is plenty of good lighting power available. If there is too must dust and dirt, your freshly cleaned vehicle won’t stay that way for long. Ideally, you will have the temperature set to 72 degrees, which is warm enough for the vinyl to conform properly, but not too warm that you are working with taffy. When pulling the liner backing off the vinyl, you will create a static charge which will draw debris to the vinyl from within about a 4-foot radius. If your space is clean, there won’t be nearly as much to attract. ### STEP 4: PREP YOUR VEHICLE If your vehicle has any dents, dings, or deep scratches, we recommend you fix those before going any further. While the vinyl will change the color of imperfections, any surface impressions will telegraph through and still be noticeable. You also want your vehicle to have a factory paint job that is in good condition. If the paint is chalking or failing, anything you put on top of it will fail when the paint lets go. If this is your situation, you would be better off simply having the car repainted to solve the problem at the source instead of trying to cover it up. Next, check the panels you plan to wrap and remove any bulky items that may get in the way, such as logos, trim, door handles, and hood ornaments. If you don’t know the best method for removing these safely, we recommend researching it first or contacting a body shop for help. Now it’s time to give your vehicle a good soapy wash using the supplies you have on hand or picked up earlier. When you’re finished, use a lint-free microfiber cloth to thoroughly dry all surfaces. Once all surfaces are clean, leave the vehicle inside to dry overnight so that all of the remaining water trapped in the body panels has time to find its way out. On install day, you need to wipe down the entire car with 70% isopropyl alcohol to ensure you have a clean and pristine surface to wrap. This is especially important for all edges of the wrap, such as the inside edges of the body panels, door panels, and everywhere else where an edge of the film will be. Many great wrap installs have been ruined within a year because not enough time or care was paid to the preparation and cleaning stage of the install. Don’t let yours become yet another statistic. For expert installers, once the car is perfectly clean and ready to wrap, they will apply [3M primer 94](https://www.3m.com/3M/en_US/p/d/b40065491/) to any edges or severe indents to ensure the vinyl stays down in these critical areas. You will still need to install the vinyl correctly and post-heat these areas thoroughly, but it will improve your odds of success. Primer 94 can be found in small cans or convenient crack ampules. Don’t apply primer 94 to the entire car all at once, though. Only put it in the areas you plan to wrap in the next 4 hours. Once you finish that area, then set up another section of the car for your next 4 hours. ***Important safety note about isopropyl alcohol and Primer 94:*** *You need to have adequate ventilation for both of these products, particularly the isopropyl alcohol. Make sure to read the MSDS information for both before proceeding. Your health will thank you.* ![Brand Ink Camaro Car Wrap](https://brandink.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/09/camaro.png "camaro | Brand Ink") ### STEP 5: APPLY WRAP TO THE FIRST PANEL If this is your first time wrapping a vehicle (which it probably is if you’re reading this), we recommend starting with a flat section first, such as the hood, roof, or a door panel if you removed the handles. This will allow you to accrue some experience and confidence before moving on to the more difficult sections. Using the measurements you took earlier, unroll the desired amount of film, and then cut it with your utility knife. Be sure to cut your film on a clean folding table or a similar surface that’s off the floor and away from any contaminants. Are you using a high-end film with color-changing effects in it? Make sure the arrows on the back of the film are consistently pointing in the same direction when you install it, otherwise the effect won’t flow nicely from front to back when you’re done. With a friend, remove the liner backing from the entire piece of vinyl and lightly tack it into position on your first panel. Use your 4-inch squeegee to start in the middle of the panel and slowly work your way out to the edges. Your goal here is to push out all air from underneath the vinyl. Use overlapping strokes to make sure you don’t miss any areas. When the shape of the vehicle changes and you need to stretch the vinyl into convex or concave areas, start by stretching it cold with your squeegee. If you mess up an area, try pulling the vinyl back a bit and heating it with a heat gun (with no tension). The vinyl has a memory that should cause it to go back to its original shape, giving you another chance at the install. Make sure to let the vinyl cool back off before reattempting the install. You can do this several times in the same area, but eventually, you will reach a point of no return with the vinyl and will need a new piece if you’re struggling. Be patient and avoid using heat to stretch the film on install until you really need to. If you jump right into the heat from the start, you will be fighting with shaping the vinyl on the entire panel. Really skilled installers know this and avoid painting themselves into a corner by making small adjustments and stretches before they get into the hard areas. ### STEP 6: WORK OUT ANY BUBBLES Once the film is applied, it’s time to work out any air bubbles that may have formed. While special channels within the adhesive backing will help minimize the number of bubbles formed, chances are you’ll still need to remove a small handful. Grab your squeegee and—once again—start in the middle and work your way out toward the exit points at the edges of the film. Want to be sure you got all of it? A great way to verify your install is to post heat the film to about 200 degrees, which will break the memory of the film, accelerate the adhesion process, and highlight any areas where there is air trapped under the vinyl. If you see any of these areas bubble up, stop heating the area, let it cool down, and then push the air out toward one of the edges. Then, post-heat once more. ![Brand Ink Applying a BMW i8 Vehicle Wrap in Shop](https://brandink.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/02/i8-1024x680.jpg "Our Services | Brand Ink") ### STEP 7: CUT THE WRAP AND TUCK THE EDGES Once the wrap is smooth, it’s time to remove any excess material. Using a sharp blade, carefully cut away the overhanging film, leaving about 1/4 – 1/8 inch all around. Remember that your vehicle’s paint is dangerously close to your blade, so take your time with this step. Now take that excess 1/4 – 1/8 inch bit and tuck it around the curved edge of the panel. If there’s too much tension, you can use your heat gun to soften it up and remove any wrinkles that may have formed near the edges. ### STEP 8: APPLY HEAT TO SET Once the panel is wrapped and tucked, it’s time to use your heat gun to set it in place permanently. Be sure to apply heat evenly across the surface. A good method is to use a heat gun in one hand and an IR temperature sensor in the other. This way, you can be sure you get the surface temperature up to 200 degrees, but not so high as to burn the vinyl or underlying paint. If any of the edges begin to peel back or bubbles appear, you’ll need to fix or replace that section. Trust us, it’s better to do it now than after it continues to get worse once it’s exposed to sun and rain. ![Brand Ink applying heat to set a vehicle wrap](https://brandink.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/08/Swirly-Camaro-1024x549.jpg "Brand Ink applying heat to set a vehicle wrap on a Metallic Purple Camaro | Brand Ink") ### STEP 9: WRAP THE REST OF THE VEHICLE Once you’ve cut your teeth on your first panel, it’s time to complete steps 5–7 on the remainder of the vehicle. It may be slow work, but trust us, it’ll be worth it! When working with curved surfaces, you will inevitably encounter creases and folds in the film. When this happens, try to reposition the film, and add a small amount of tension to avoid these ripples. As a last resort, you can add a little heat to soften the film and conform it to the shaped surface. ### STEP 10: CELEBRATE A JOB WELL DONE Congratulations! You are now the proud owner of a vehicle that will truly stand out in any crowd. And the best part is, your vehicle’s paint will be protected for up to 10 years! Keep reading for our simple 6-step guide to vinyl car wrap removal. ![Brand Ink Professionally wrapped blue purple Corvette Convertible Car](https://brandink.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/08/23674834_1521257724577207_5959231125349723972_o-1024x508.jpg "Brand Ink Professionally wrapped blue purple Corvette Convertible Car7724577207_5959231125349723972_o | Brand Ink") ### STEP 1: PREPARE YOUR ENVIRONMENT If possible, tackle this job inside a large, climate-controlled indoor space such as a garage. If your conditions are too cold, he vinyl is likelier to break apart and make things much more difficult. A really hot sunny day can be your friend, as a hotter surface temperature frequently makes the removal process much easier. ### STEP 2: CHOOSE A CORNER TO TEST Before you get too carried away, we recommend trying to remove a small corner to see how easily the vinyl will come off. If it peels off nicely using the instructions below, then proceed with the remainder of the vehicle. If any of the following situations occur, you may want to [consult a vehicle wrap professional in your area](https://www.brandink.com/deliver/vehicle-wraps/) for assistance. They have special tools and techniques they can use to safely remove the difficult vinyl without causing harm to your vehicle. #### Common issues with vinyl wrap removal: - **The vinyl doesn’t peel back with gentle to moderate force:** While wrap vinyl is designed to not damage the underlying paint, if you pull back with a lot of force directly away from the surface of the vehicle, the risk of damaging the paint or clearcoat dramatically increases, especially if the paint was weak or non-factory to begin with. - **The vinyl chips off in small flakes:** If this happens, you’re likely going to have a battle for the remainder of the car. In some cases, this is caused by low-quality vinyl. In other cases, it’s extreme age or intense conditions (like the hood of a car that has been baking in the Las Vegas sun). Professionals use special chemicals and techniques in situations like this, but even so, it’s going to take many hours of intense work to remove it completely and correctly. - **An excessive amount of residue is being left behind:** This is typically the result of a lower quality, off-brand vinyl material. The better the material you buy, the easier and cleaner it will come off. In some cases, you can limit this effect by increasing or decreasing the surface temperature of the film on removal, but just make sure to continue to use hard angles when pulling the vinyl off so you’re not pulling straight away from the car. ![Brand Ink applying heat to set a vehicle wrap](https://brandink.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/08/Swirly-Camaro-1024x549.jpg "Brand Ink applying heat to set a vehicle wrap on a Metallic Purple Camaro | Brand Ink") ### STEP 3: APPLY HEAT Using your trusty heat gun, slowly heat the section of vinyl you aim to remove. Keep the heat gun at least 6 inches away from the surface and slowly move it back and forth to distribute the heat as evenly as possible. If you’re too close or stay in one spot for too long, the vinyl may start to bubble or burn. The vinyl should be warm to the touch, but never too hot to handle without gloves. If an area cools down and becomes difficult to peel, you can always reheat that section to make your job easier. ### STEP 4: CAREFULLY PULL BACK THE WRAP Once the vinyl section is properly heated, get your fingers under the edge of the wrap and slowly begin to peel it back. Be as methodical as you can and try to keep the material you’re removing at a 45-degree angle. If you go too fast, you run the risk of it tearing apart, which will end up slowing you down in the long run. If you’re having difficulty getting the edges peeled with your fingernails, you can use your plastic razor blade to slide underneath and help pry them up. Whatever you do though, don’t attempt this with anything sharp or abrasive, such as a knife or screwdriver, as that may cause damage to the paint. Even a credit card wielded in the wrong manner can leave micro-scratches in the paint, so proceed with care. ![](https://www.brandink.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/ferrariinstall.jpg "| Brand Ink") ### STEP 5: APPLY ADHESIVE REMOVER ON ANY LEFTOVER RESIDUE Once you have all the vinyl wrap removed and properly disposed of, it’s time to clean off any excess residue from your vehicle’s surface. We recommend using a [3M citrus-based adhesive remover](https://www.3m.com/3M/en_US/p/d/b5005047175/) or Rapid Tac. Both work well and are safe to use on nearly all cured automotive paints. Spray the adhesive remover on any areas with residue and allow it to sit for at least a minute. Then take a microfiber cloth and wipe the area clean. The surface should feel smooth to the touch. If you notice any stickiness, apply a second coat. ### STEP 6: BEGIN YOUR NEXT DESIGN Now that your vinyl wrap is completely removed, it’s time to celebrate a job well done. Unless you plan to keep your original paint, this is when you can start to plan for your vehicle’s next design. It is for this very reason that chevron decals have become a standard on the rear panels of all fire trucks, ambulances, and other first response vehicles. Unfortunately, like with many things, not all chevron decals are created equal. When lives are at risk, do you really want to take a chance on lesser quality materials or an inferior installation? We didn’t think so. Here are three key reasons why you should install only the highest quality chevrons on your emergency vehicle fleet. ## QUALITY CHEVRONS HELP KEEP YOUR CREWS SAFE In 2009, the [National Fire Protection Association](https://www.nfpa.org/) (NFPA) standardized the red and yellow chevrons you see today. These colors were selected for their ability to provide the greatest—and most balanced—day and night visibility. In addition, the direction, angle, and thickness of the stripes were specifically chosen for their ability to direct other motorists away from the emergency area. By investing in a high-quality chevron material that is laminated for UV protection, you’re ensuring those colors don’t fade over time and lose that all-important visibility. At Brand Ink, we only use micro-prismatic lens reflective sheeting that meets [ASTM D4956 Type III and IV standards](https://multimedia.3m.com/mws/media/315459O/astm-d4956-04-standard-specification.pdf) and is rated for maximum emergency zone safety. ![Brand Ink Fire truck chevron decals](https://www.brandink.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/Chevron-1.png "| Brand Ink") ## QUALITY CHEVRONS HOLD UP TO THE RIGORS OF THE JOB Needless to say, emergency vehicles get put through the wringer. From the scuffs and scratches of daily use to the intense heat of a nearby fire, every part of the vehicle needs to hold up to heavy abuse—and the chevrons are certainly no exception. What you may not know, however, is that most of the damage done to chevrons takes place while *waiting* for the call. Since fire trucks and other emergency vehicles get hand-washed multiple times a week at the fire hall, poorly installed chevrons have been known to dry rot from the inside out. Unless you want the hassle of replacing damaged decals every few years, your best option is to have a trusted vehicle wrap company install the highest quality materials. At Brand Ink, we use the most durable topcoat aids on every emergency vehicle installation that are proven to be as tough as the men and women who drive them. ## QUALITY CHEVRONS SAVE YOUR DEPARTMENT MONEY When it comes to saving lives, we know the cost of your equipment is at most a tertiary consideration. But at the end of the day, you have to do the best you can with the budget you have. So, why wouldn’t you want to invest in a product that will last longer and save your department money in the long run? While many chevron decals on the market only last around 5–7 years, Brand Ink’s [high-quality 3M materials](https://www.3m.com/3M/en_LB/p/d/v000117600/) and professional installation are backed by an up to 10-year performance warranty. We certainly wouldn’t offer that unless we truly believed in the product we’re using. ![Brand Ink Fire truck chevron decals](https://www.brandink.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/Chevron-2.png "| Brand Ink") ## INSTALL THE HIGHEST QUALITY CHEVRONS WITH BRAND INK If you’re buying a new emergency vehicle, there’s a good chance it already has Brand Ink chevrons applied. That’s because OEM manufacturers know the difference in quality and trust us with their reputation. Brand Ink offers fully standardized and compliant chevrons to meet any law enforcement, EMS, and fire apparatus needs. Our prismatic, diamond-engineered chevrons can be applied on nearly any vehicle and surface type (flat, curved, tread plate, etc.). Work vans and [food trucks](https://www.brandink.com/blog/3-custom-food-truck-and-trailer-wraps-worth-drooling-over/) with branded graphics are also a pretty commonplace sight on our nation’s highways. But did you know there’s really no limit to what types of vehicles can be covered? At [Brand Ink](https://www.brandink.com/), we’ve worked on a wide range of exotic rides, from semis and tanker trucks to stock cars and hot rods. Even so, there are still times when we’re completely floored by what pulls up to our St. Paul shop. With that said, here are the top seven most surprising vehicles you didn’t know could be vinyl wrapped. ## 1. GOLF CARTS ![Brand Ink 3M Golf Cart Wrap](https://www.brandink.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/02/IMG_2640.jpg "Bullet Points Left | Brand Ink")It was only a matter of time before someone got bored with the traditional all-white golf cart. Whether you’re branding an entire fleet for a private event or just want your personal cart to stand out at the cabin, a custom vinyl wrap is a perfect way to go. In fact, with all eyes on you, you’ll never have to yell, “Fore!” ever again. ## 2. LIMOUSINES ![Brand Ink Limousine Vehicle Wrap](https://brandink.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/02/billsgunshop.jpg "Portfolio Page | Brand Ink")Sure, covering one may take a couple of extra rolls of vinyl wrap, but a limousine is a great choice for custom graphics. And since most limousine drivers are also small-business owners, this is a great way to get your brand out there and promote yourself as you drive around the city in style. ## 3. TRAMS ![Brand Ink Tram Vehicle Wrap](https://brandink.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/02/tikitram.jpg "| Brand Ink")You’ve probably seen a bus or train with ads plastered around the sides, but have you ever witnessed a fully-wrapped tram before? We didn’t think so! Next time you do though, hop on—because public transit has never been this fun. ## 4. UTILITY VEHICLES ![Brand Ink ATV utility vehicle wrap](https://brandink.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/08/ATV-Camo.jpeg "Brand Ink ATV utility vehicle camo wrap | Brand Ink")Whether you call them utility vehicles, ATVs, or side-by-sides, one thing is for sure: they look great with custom vinyl graphics. Add a little personal flair or deck them out in full camo for your next fall hunting trip—the choice is yours. ## 5. FIRETRUCKS ![Brand Ink Firetruck Vehicle Wrap](https://brandink.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/02/firetruck.jpg "| Brand Ink")Firetrucks and other emergency vehicles are known for their [high-visibility chevron decals](https://www.brandink.com/blog/the-importance-of-applying-quality-emergency-vehicle-chevrons/), but did you know they also look good with a custom-designed vinyl wrap? It’s true! Whether you’re supporting a good cause or adding a little visual interest for a local parade, professionally installed graphics are definitely the way to go. ## 6. JET SKIS ![Brand Ink Vikings Jet Ski Wrap](https://brandink.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/02/vikings.jpg "| Brand Ink")Just because it doesn’t have wheels doesn’t mean it can’t be vinyl wrapped! Boats, pontoons, and—of course—jet skis are the perfect examples of that. Make sure you hire a reputable business to apply the wrap though because you want to be sure it’ll hold up to the biggest waves and the harshest elements. ## 7. FISH HOUSES ![Brand Ink Ice Fishing Shack Daytime Wrap](https://brandink.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/02/backwindowday.jpg "Portfolio Items | Brand Ink")Okay, so this one’s *technically* more of a dwelling than a vehicle, but we simply had to include it on our list. Whether you want to represent your favorite sports team or honor a legendary fish the locals can never seem to catch, we can definitely help make that happen. And the best part is, you’ll never second guess which fish house is yours when walking back late at night, thanks to the retro-reflective wrap that shines long after the sun goes down. ![Brand Ink Ice Fishing Shack Reflective Wrap](https://brandink.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/02/backwindownight.jpg "Portfolio | Brand Ink") ## WHAT KIND OF VEHICLE CAN BRAND INK WRAP FOR YOU? There are so many things that need to be considered (doors, windows, handles, etc.) that print and digital designers simply don’t have to worry about. If you don’t know what you’re doing, it can be really easy to make a mistake. Sure, many of those errors are so small, the vast majority of people will never notice them as they go about their days. Fortunately, there are a handful of vehicle wrap fails so epic, we had to include them here for you to appreciate. And of course, with all mistakes comes the opportunity to learn. So, we’ve also included some helpful [car wrap design tips](https://www.brandink.com/blog/7-pro-tips-for-an-effective-commercial-car-wrap-design/) so you never fall victim to one of these five embarrassing blunders. Enjoy! ## FAIL #1: FORGETTING YOUR VEHICLE DOORS OPEN ![Starbucks Vehicle Wrap Fail](https://brandink.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/03/Starbucks-Vehicle-Wrap-Fail.jpg "Starbucks Vehicle Wrap Fail | Brand Ink") Unless you actually want your design to create a hidden image—like a [Mad Magazine back cover fold-in](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mad_Fold-in)—we recommend you take all doors and other moving vehicle parts into consideration. If your company name or tagline is too large to fit within the confines of the door, you may want to rethink its placement. ![Community of Christ Church Vehicle Wrap Fail](https://brandink.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/03/Community-of-Christ-Church-Vehicle-Wrap-Fail.jpg "Community of Christ Church Vehicle Wrap Fail | Brand Ink") While sliding van doors are the biggest culprits here, back doors, tailgates, and regular car doors can all temporarily obstruct your message as well. Be sure to open all doors and windows and inspect your vehicle from multiple angles before you hit the road. ## FAIL #2: PLASTERING YOUR FACE IN THE WORST LOCATIONS ![Yves Levesque Vehicle Wrap Fail](https://brandink.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/03/Yves-Levesque-Vehicle-Wrap-Fail.jpg "Yves Levesque Vehicle Wrap Fail | Brand Ink") There’d be nothing more frustrating than paying thousands of dollars to have your vehicle professionally wrapped, only to have a door handle covering two-thirds of your face. Because it still needs to function as a road-worthy vehicle, things like rearview mirrors, door handles, and—in many cases—windows need to be designed around. ![New Anchor Bus Wrap Fail](https://brandink.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/03/New-Anchor-Bus-Wrap-Fail.jpg "New Anchor Bus Wrap Fail | Brand Ink") While your logos, images, and text should all steer clear, a creative design can still move “through” these features to great effect. Just make sure to double-check the placement of each image *before* it the vinyl wrap gets applied to the vehicle. ## FAIL #3: TRYING TO SQUEEZE TOO MUCH IN ![Shuttle Van Wrap Fail](https://brandink.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/03/Shuttle-Van-Wrap-Fail.jpg "Shuttle Van Wrap Fail | Brand Ink") The key thing to remember here is that you’re designing a moving vehicle—not a stationary object. Unless you’re stuck in the world’s worst traffic jam, your potential customers only have about 5–10 seconds to digest your message. ![FindTape Vehicle Wrap Fail](https://brandink.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/03/FindTape-Vehicle-Wrap-Fail-1024x768.jpg "FindTape Vehicle Wrap Fail | Brand Ink") Don’t waste that time by shoving 18 bullet points and every service award you’ve ever won down their throats. Try to keep your design as simple and memorable as possible. Remember, if you highlight everything, *you highlight nothing.* ## FAIL #4: USING AN OVERLY FLOWERY FONT ![JT Carpentry Vehicle Wrap Fail](https://brandink.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/03/JT-Carpentry-Vehicle-Wrap-Fail.jpg "JT Carpentry Vehicle Wrap Fail | Brand Ink") We get it—Palace Script looks super fancy and can make your brand look sophisticated in the eyes of your customer. With that said, it doesn’t matter how sophisticated you appear if nobody can actually read the name of your business. ![Cafe Rio Vehicle Wrap Fail](https://brandink.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/03/Cafe-Rio-Vehicle-Wrap-Fail.jpg "Cafe Rio Vehicle Wrap Fail | Brand Ink") Now, we know what you might be thinking, “But that’s our brand font! Don’t we need to be consistent?” In almost every other case, yes, but if your brand font is this illegible, you should probably fire your marketing agency. ## FAIL #5: SETTLING FOR POOR QUALITY PHOTOS ![Brooklyn Pizza Vehicle Wrap Fail](https://brandink.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/03/Brooklyn-Pizza-Vehicle-Wrap-Fail.jpg "Brooklyn Pizza Vehicle Wrap Fail | Brand Ink") While that grainy cellphone picture might look good on your two-inch screen, that’s not likely to be the case on your larger-than-life trailer wrap. Even on the tiniest smart car, your photo is going to be enlarged so much that the lack of quality will have nowhere to hide and will stand out in your design like a sore thumb. ![Final Shot Vehicle Wrap Fail](https://brandink.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/03/Final-Shot-Vehicle-Wrap-Fail.jpg "Final Shot Vehicle Wrap Fail | Brand Ink") Only use the most high-resolution photos or hire a professional photographer who can provide you with the level of quality you need. When it comes to acceptable photo formats, we recommend .EPS vectors, non-compressed .PDF, high-resolution .JPG, or unflattened .PSDs. ## NEED HELP WITH YOUR COMMERCIAL VEHICLE WRAP ARTWORK? It used to be that if you had a vehicle wrap at all, people would take notice. But now? Car wraps are everywhere, so it takes a lot more creativity and effort to truly stand out at a red light. Don’t let your fleet of vehicles fall victim to a boring text and logo design. Attract an absurd amount of eyeballs with one of these five clever and eye-catching custom car wrap ideas! ## 1. ADD DEPTH TO YOUR VEHICLE WITH A 3D CAR WRAP ![Snap Construction 3D Car Wrap Design](https://brandink.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/Snap-Construction-3D-Car-Wrap-Design.png "Snap Construction 3D Car Wrap Design | Brand Ink") Three-dimensional artwork is certainly not a new concept, but its application in vehicle wrap designs is only just beginning to gain traction. A well-executed 3D design will make people do a serious double-take, giving them a second—and much more focused—look at your brand. Whether you use this opportunity to create an image that “jumps out” at your customers or offers them a rare “peek” into your vehicle is entirely up to you. ![Walser 3D Car Wrap Design](https://brandink.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/Walser-3D-Car-Wrap-Design.jpg "Walser 3D Car Wrap Design | Brand Ink") ## 2. BE SEEN 24/7 WITH A GLOW-IN-THE-DARK CAR WRAP ![Trane Glow in the Dark Car Wrap Day](https://brandink.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/Trane-Glow-in-the-Dark-Car-Wrap-Day.jpg "Trane Glow in the Dark Car Wrap Day | Brand Ink") Vehicle wraps are a great way to boost your brand visibility, but one of the major drawbacks has always been that when the sun goes down they become far less effective—until now! With [3M Reflective Vinyl Films](https://www.3m.com/3M/en_US/graphics-signage-us/applications/reflective-films/), you can ensure your brand is seen no matter the time of day. This is an ideal option for people who do a lot of night driving or businesses that offer around-the-clock customer service. ![Trane Glow in the Dark Car Wrap Night](https://brandink.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/Trane-Glow-in-the-Dark-Car-Wrap-Night.jpg "Trane Glow in the Dark Car Wrap Night | Brand Ink") ## 3. SPREAD SMILES WITH A SATISFIED CUSTOMER CAR WRAP ![Foss Swim School Car Wrap](https://brandink.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/Foss-Car-Wrap.jpg "Foss Swim School Car Wrap | Brand Ink") It’s a proven fact that [smiles are contagious](https://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2016/02/160211140428.htm), so why not spread a good mood with your vehicle wrap design? By including a photo of a happy, satisfied customer, potential clients are much more likely to view your business favorably. People are also likely to imagine themselves in that customer’s shoes, which will help plant the seed of a positive experience. Your customers don’t necessarily need to be humans either, as the joyful bounding dog below perfectly illustrates. ![Dogwatch Hidden Fences Car Wrap](https://brandink.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/Dogwatch-Hidden-Fences.png "Dogwatch Hidden Fences Car Wrap | Brand Ink") ## 4. SPLIT YOUR VEHICLE IN TWO WITH 50/50 ARTWORK ![Sonic Car Wrap](https://brandink.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/Sonic-Car-Wrap.png "Sonic Car Wrap | Brand Ink") Another fun and unusual car wrap idea is to split your vehicle down the middle using two distinct colors. That way, depending on your perspective (looking at the front vs. the back, or at the left side vs. the right), it will look like two entirely different vehicles. There are also plenty of stylish options for how the two colors can fade or transition, which will further add to the intrigue and memorability of your design. ![Handymaam Construction Car Wrap](https://brandink.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/Handymaam-Construction.png "Handymaam Construction | Brand Ink") ## 5. ATTRACT MORE ATTENTION WITH AN EXPLOSION OF COLOR ![Cookie Cart Car Wrap](https://brandink.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/Cookie-Cart-Car-Wrap.png "Cookie Cart Car Wrap | Brand Ink") There’s a very good reason early comic book superheroes wore bright, vibrant colors. While your single-color design may look professional, it won’t draw the eyes of potential customers like a car wrap that adds a huge splash of color! Of course, there is such a thing as overdoing it, so you’ll need to be careful. It’s also important to stay true to your brand standards, but if you have any flexibility at all, this is a great opportunity to take a risk and make a statement. ![Brand Ink Comic Car Wrap](https://brandink.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/Brand-Ink-Comic-Car-Wrap.png "Brand Ink Comic Car Wrap | Brand Ink") ## BRING YOUR WILDEST CAR WRAP IDEAS TO LIFE WITH BRAND INK Were you inspired by any of the examples above? You’re not the only one. Believe it or not, the success of many businesses has hinged on the quality of their brand signage. As a business owner, you know that a well-designed sign can help customers find your business, learn about your products and services, and feel inspired to patronize your establishment. In this article, we’ll provide you with brand signage guidelines and best practices so you can create the most effective and visually striking displays to help strengthen your brand. ## SIGN PLACEMENT GUIDELINES Now that you know a little bit more about brand signage, let’s go over some guidelines for placing them in both vehicular and pedestrian areas. #### Vehicular signage ![Foss Swim School Mall Signage](https://brandink.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/Foss-Swim-School-Mall-Signage.jpg "Foss Swim School Mall Signage | Brand Ink") - Signs should be at least 2 feet from the curb but no more than 10 feet away. - Install the sign so it faces toward the approaching vehicle. - Locate and install signs so that they are not blocked by other signage, buildings, or vegetation. - When possible, place it on the right side of the road unless it must be read from both directions. - Signs should either be illuminated or receive sufficient ambient light for nighttime legibility. - Signs that require decision-making, such as vehicular navigation, need to allow the motorist adequate time to react and turn. #### Pedestrian signage ![US Bank Pedestrian Signage](https://brandink.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/US-Bank-Pedestrian-Signage-scaled-1.jpeg "US Bank Pedestrian Signage | Brand Ink") - Signs should be placed in a highly visible location that does not interfere with foot traffic. - Locate and install signs so that they are not blocked by—or interfere with—other signage, buildings, or vegetation. - Signs should either be lit or receive ambient light for nighttime legibility. ## BRAND SIGNAGE MATERIAL CONSIDERATIONS There are many factors to consider when choosing the right material for your brand signage. Some things to keep in mind include: #### Environmental conditions ![OneTen-Windows-July-2019-1024x768](https://brandink.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/OneTen-Windows-July-2019-1024x768-1.jpg "OneTen-Windows-July-2019-1024x768 | Brand Ink") Indoor or outdoor? Wet or dry? Hot or cold? Dusty or clean? High wind or direct sunlight? All of these factors can affect the type of material you choose for your sign. We always recommend choosing a [local graphics installer](https://get.3mskins.com/home/open/#/companies/publicsearch) since they’ll have a much better idea of the materials that work best in your area. #### Size and shape How big does your sign need to be? Will it be rectangular, circular, or uniquely die-cut? These dimensional considerations will also help you determine the best material for your needs. #### Marketing budget How much are you willing to spend on this project? Different materials come with different price tags, so knowing your marketing budget upfront will help narrow down your options. #### Appearance and durability You want your sign to look good and last a long time, so pay close attention to the appearance and durability of the material. If it’s an outdoor sign, make sure it can withstand the elements for years to come. #### Surface texture ![Wall wrap for Fierce Glass](https://brandink.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/02/IMG_0393.jpg "Wall wrap for Fierce Glass | Brand Ink") Some materials are better suited for certain types of graphics than others. A smooth surface, such as glass and drywall, is ideal for vinyl lettering whereas a rougher surface, like brick or concrete, may be better for dimensional letters. For more examples, check out our guide on the [five surprising surfaces that are great for architectural graphics](https://www.brandink.com/blog/can-wrap-5-surprising-surfaces-great-architectural-graphics/). #### Brand identity The right materials can help reinforce the look and feel of your brand. For instance, a rustic restaurant may make use of weathered wooden signs, whereas a cutting-edge IT firm might prefer a sleek metal look. Visit our [Brand Signage page](https://www.brandink.com/services/brand-signage/) to learn about Brand Ink’s wide variety of material solutions. ## BRAND SIGNAGE SIZING TIPS Once you’ve decided on the right material for your project, it’s time to start thinking about size. Here are a few things to keep in mind: #### Readability ![3M Van and Building Graphics](https://brandink.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/3M-Van-and-Building-Graphics-scaled-1.jpg "3M Van and Building Graphics | Brand Ink") The number one rule of thumb when it comes to sign size is readability. Your sign should be big enough that people can see and read it from a distance. This is especially important for signs that are meant to be seen from the road. #### Location Where will your sign be placed? This will play a big role in how big or small your sign needs to be. If it’s going on a busy street, for example, you’ll want to make sure it’s large enough to be seen by people driving by. #### Design Your sign design should be simple and easy to read. This means avoiding small text or intricate graphics that can be hard to see from a distance. Keep it clean and straightforward for the best results. ## BRAND SIGNAGE CONSISTENCY TIPS ![Pacifico POP Display Graphics](https://brandink.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/Pacifico-POP-Display-Graphics-scaled-1.jpg "Pacifico POP Display Graphics | Brand Ink") Once you’ve created your brand signage, it’s important to keep it consistent across all of your marketing materials. This includes using the same colors, fonts, and overall look and feel on everything from your website to your business cards. By doing this, you’ll create a cohesive and professional image that will help you stand out from the competition. ## BRAND SIGNAGE VISIBILITY TIPS No matter how well-designed or well-constructed your sign is, it won’t do you any good if people can’t see it. That’s why it’s important to pay attention to visibility when creating your brand signage. Here are a few things to keep in mind: #### Location Choose a location for your sign that gets a lot of foot traffic or is visible from a busy road. This will help ensure that enough people see it to provide a high return on investment (ROI). #### Lighting ![Huxley Illuminated Displays](https://brandink.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/Huxley-Illuminated-Displays-scaled-1.jpg "Huxley Illuminated Displays | Brand Ink") If your sign is going to be placed outside or in a dimly lit space, make sure it’s illuminated so people can see it at night. You may also want to consider adding reflective tape or other high-visibility elements to make sure it stands out during the day. #### Maintenance Signs are notorious for becoming the unwanted homes of birds or insects and are prone to collecting dust and dirt. That’s why it’s important to regularly clean and maintain your signage so it continues to look its best. Beyond that, many towns have specific signage regulations in place, so failure to provide routine upkeep can even lead to legal trouble. ## BRAND SIGNAGE COMPLIANCE GUIDELINES There are many regulations that govern the use of brand signage, so it’s important to make sure you’re in compliance with all applicable laws. Some things to keep in mind include: #### Zoning regulations Before you can install your signage, you may need to get approval from your local zoning board. This process can be time-consuming, so it’s important to get your application in early. #### Building codes ![Salt Exterior Window Wraps](https://brandink.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/Salt-Exterior-Window-Wraps-scaled-1.jpg "Salt Exterior Window Wraps | Brand Ink") Your graphic signage must also comply with all applicable building codes, which can vary depending on your location. These codes cover everything from the sign’s placement to the materials that can be used. #### Historic district regulations If your signage is going up in a historic district, there may be additional regulations you need to follow. These restrictions are in place to protect the character of the area, so it’s important to get approval before proceeding with your signage project. ## OTHER BRAND SIGNAGE BEST PRACTICES Here are some final tips to consider when creating your brand signage: #### Keep it simple The best signs are usually the simplest ones. This is especially true when it comes to roadside signage, where you only have a few seconds to capture someone’s attention. #### Show some personality ![Bathroom Hallway Graphics](https://brandink.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/Bathroom-Hallway-Graphics-scaled-1.jpeg "Bathroom Hallway Graphics | Brand Ink") People love seeing creative and unique signage, so don’t be afraid to have some fun with your design. For example, if you’re a British pub, you might label your bathrooms “Lords” and “Ladies.” If done right, this can help you stand out from the competition and attract extra attention to your business. #### Proofread it first Always have more than one person proofread your signage, just to be safe. Grammatical, spelling, and punctuation mistakes can cause customers to doubt your professionalism and damage your business’ reputation. If you’d like a cautionary tale, check out [our list of the five worst commercial vehicle wrap fails](https://www.brandink.com/blog/5-commercial-vehicle-wrap-fails-and-what-your-business-can-learn-from-them/). #### Keep it fresh Your signage should be revamped regularly to reflect any changes in your business, such as new products or services, special promotions, and updated contact information. This will help ensure that your customers always have the most up-to-date information about your company. #### Mix it up ![3M Multi-Surface Signage](https://brandink.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/3M-Multi-Surface-Signage-scaled-1.jpeg "3M Multi-Surface Signage | Brand Ink") Your customers are much more likely to take notice if your signage jumps off the wall, splashes across a free-standing sign, entangles an interactive object, and melts into the floor beneath their feet. Sure, it will take some extra planning, but it will be totally worth the effort! #### Install it properly When installing your signage, make sure it’s done correctly so it doesn’t fall and cause damage or injury. If you’re not confident in your ability to do it yourself, hire [a professional brand signage company](https://www.brandink.com/services/brand-signage/) in your area to do it for you. ## TAKE YOUR BRAND TO NEW HEIGHTS WITH BRAND INK By following these brand signage guidelines, you’re sure to create a display that is effective, eye-catching, and compliant with all applicable regulations. Whether you want to update your business hours or show off your new logo, applying vinyl decals on your windows and doors is a great way to visually enhance the entire façade of your building. But if you’ve never done it before, you might be asking yourself, “How do I install large window decals by myself?” The good news is—with the right tools, materials, and guidance—you too can apply a large vinyl decal on your glass surface with ease. Before you get started, though, it’s important you have everything you’ll need at the ready. ## WHAT YOU NEED TO INSTALL A DECAL ON A WINDOW Fortunately, there isn’t much you need to install a window decal. Just be sure to equip yourself with the following items before you begin: - [Window cleaning spray](https://www.amazon.com/Windex-Cleaner-Trigger-Bottle-Original/dp/B01GFLZ0WU/ref=sr_1_5?crid=3B8JWDTG8DRUH&keywords=window+cleaning+spray&qid=1666967115&qu=eyJxc2MiOiI0LjI1IiwicXNhIjoiNC4wNSIsInFzcCI6IjMuODYifQ%3D%3D&sprefix=window+cleaning+spray%2Caps%2C115&sr=8-5) - If you’re looking to save a few bucks, you can make your own solution in an empty spray bottle using a mixture of 70% isopropyl alcohol and 30% water. - [A clean microfiber cloth](https://www.amazon.com/Microfiber-Cleaning-Towels-Assorted-Yellow/dp/B098D79MQB/ref=sr_1_5?crid=OPPN5WUGOCFE&keywords=microfiber+cleaning+cloth&qid=1666967211&qu=eyJxc2MiOiI1Ljc4IiwicXNhIjoiNS4zMyIsInFzcCI6IjUuMjEifQ%3D%3D&sprefix=micro%2Caps%2C108&sr=8-5) - Do NOT use a standard towel as this can leave behind fibers. - [Your window graphic](https://www.brandink.com/services/brand-signage/) - For the best quality, be sure to get them printed by a reputable brand signage expert in your area! - [Masking tape](https://www.amazon.com/Scotch-Contractor-Grade-Masking-Tape/dp/B008LAQYXI/ref=sr_1_4?crid=18I49MZ4XU2PH&keywords=masking+tape&qid=1666971433&qu=eyJxc2MiOiI1LjM2IiwicXNhIjoiNS4wNSIsInFzcCI6IjQuODgifQ%3D%3D&sprefix=masking+tape%2Caps%2C96&sr=8-4) - If you don’t have masking tape, blue painter’s tape or any other tape that won’t leave behind a sticky residue will work. - [A vinyl wrap film cutter](https://www.amazon.com/FOSHIO-Automotive-vinyl-Wrap-Utility-Surface/dp/B077Z7MCN7/ref=sr_1_11?crid=29KKSIP6MRVYV&keywords=seam+buster&qid=1666971594&qu=eyJxc2MiOiIzLjczIiwicXNhIjoiMy4zMiIsInFzcCI6IjMuMjYifQ%3D%3D&sprefix=seam+buster%2Caps%2C113&sr=8-11) - You can also use a standard utility knife or razor blade, but if you do, be extra careful not to cut too deep and scratch the glass. - [A plastic squeegee tool](https://www.amazon.com/TECKWRAP-Plastic-Squeegee-Scraper-Applicator/dp/B01ALLUTD0/ref=sr_1_2?crid=S9TI5LH2PN7V&keywords=vinyl%2Bwrap%2Bsqueegee&qid=1666971715&qu=eyJxc2MiOiI0LjgxIiwicXNhIjoiNC4yOCIsInFzcCI6IjQuMjIifQ%3D%3D&sprefix=vinyl%2Bwrap%2Bsq%2Caps%2C107&sr=8-2&th=1) - A credit card (or another hard, flat object) can also be used. ## HOW TO INSTALL WINDOW DECALS Thanks to today’s high-quality film, even a complete beginner can transform their storefront in no time. Check out the video below or keep reading for our simple 5-step guide on how to install vinyl decals on windows like a pro. ### STEP 1: CLEAN THE WINDOW Before you begin your window decal installation, the first thing you need to do is thoroughly clean the glass surface. You don’t necessarily need to clean the entire door or window—just the area you intend to affix the decal. ***NOTE:*** *Even if the glass appears clean to the naked eye, we recommend you clean it anyway because even a small amount of dust or sediment can affect the hold of the adhesive and lead to premature peeling.* Spray the glass with your cleaning solution until the entire area has been covered. Then wipe down the area with your microfiber cloth. Once the surface is visibly clean and dry, you can move on to the next step. ### STEP 2: DRY MOCK YOUR DECAL Now that the glass is clean, take your window graphic and attach a piece of masking tape on both sides of the center of the backing paper. If you’re installing a large window decal, you may want to use additional pieces of tape to ensure it will stay on the surface without falling off. Place your decal where you would like it on the glass and press on the tape. Then take a step back and check to see if that’s exactly where you want it. If your placement is off or it looks a bit crooked, go back and adjust the tape until it looks right. ***NOTE:*** *If you don’t feel comfortable eyeballing it, you can use a tape measure and level to ensure it’s precisely positioned.* ### STEP 3: BEGIN REMOVING THE LINER PAPER Once you have your window decal positioned exactly where you want it, you can begin peeling off the top of the paper liner. You’ll want to remove about one squeegee length (3–5 inches or so) of the backing at a time. Now grab your vinyl wrap film cutter and carefully cut off the top section of the liner. After the top of the paper is removed, tack the top two corners onto the glass. ### STEP 4: PRESS ON THE DECAL Now grab your squeegee and press the decal firmly onto the glass. Use smooth, side-to-side motions, making sure you’re pushing your ear outwards as you do. Keep repeating this motion until all visible bubbles have been removed. Now that the top section of the decal is securely affixed, you can remove the pieces of tape. Grab the bottom of the decal and hold it away from the glass. Reach under and slowly peel off another few inches of liner paper. If it’s a smaller decal and you’re comfortable enough, you can remove the entire liner. Just be careful not to let go of the bottom of the decal! Now use your squeegee to press down on this section of the decal as you did before. Then repeat these steps until all of the liner paper has been removed and the entire decal is applied to the glass. Give it a full top-to-bottom swipe with your squeegee to ensure no spots have been missed. ### STEP 5: SLOWLY PEEL OFF THE PRE-MASK Choose one of the top corners and carefully peel back a small section of the “pre-mask” backing. Once you have a good hold, use both hands to keep slowly peeling it off against the window and at an angle. ***NOTE:** Do NOT pull the pre-mask backing straight away from the window at any point. Instead, pull it in parallel with the glass surface.* As you peel, look up and down the line to make sure nothing is coming off. If you see any lifting of the graphics, immediately stop and reapply it with the squeegee. Once the pre-mask is completely off, give the entire decal one final swipe with the squeegee and remove any excess residue that may be left behind on the glass. Congratulations—your window decal has been successfully applied! If you have any additional decals to install, go ahead and repeat the steps above until the entire job is complete. ![HotSpring Window Graphics - Brand Ink](https://brandink.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/20141124_125005.webp "HotSpring Window Graphics - Brand Ink | Brand Ink") ## LET BRAND INK BE YOUR WINDOW DECAL INSTALLATION EXPERTS Too busy running your business to deal with signage installation? If so, it’s important to properly prepare your space in advance to ensure a quick and flawless installation. But what does that entail, exactly? In this guide, we’ll outline the five steps you need to take to prep your office space for a [professional wall wrap](https://www.brandink.com/promo/wall-wraps/). We’ll also discuss what to expect on installation day. So without further ado, let’s get started! ## WALL WRAPS FOR OFFICE—HOW TO PREP YOUR SURFACE When it comes to interior wall murals for corporate offices, there are a few things you can do to prepare your space for a smooth and successful installation. ### 1. Choose the best location When selecting the perfect spot(s) for your wall graphic, there are several things you should consider. Ideally, the area gets a fair amount of foot traffic and natural lighting, so people can truly appreciate your design. Large, blank walls in lobbies, hallways, break rooms, conference rooms, and other shared spaces tend to make the best choices for wall wraps. Not every wall surface is ideal for a wall mural, unfortunately. Surfaces to avoid include: - Areas with high humidity - Areas near heaters - Surfaces with water pipes - Walls with large cracks, peeling paint, or other damage ### 2. Move any obstructing furniture or fixtures If there are any pieces of large furniture (e.g., couches, cabinets, desks, etc.) or other objects blocking access to the surface you’ve chosen for your wall wrap, be sure to move them out of the way prior to the installation team’s arrival. This will save a lot of time and give the installer unobstructed access to the entire area. Any fixtures that can be easily removed without causing damage to the walls is also helpful, but not mandatory. Any pipes, trim, or other permanent obstructions should NOT be touched, but do mention them to the installer ahead of time so they can plan around them. ![Wall Murals for Office - Brand Ink](https://www.brandink.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/20200910_164614-1024x607.jpg "Wall Murals for Office - Brand Ink | Brand Ink") ### 3. Fill in any cracks or holes It’s important to have a smooth and even surface if you want your wall wrap to last. So, if you notice any small holes or cracks, make sure to fill them in with spackle or joint compound at least 24 hours prior to the installation team’s arrival. Once the filler is dry, sand it down until the surface is nice and smooth, and then clean the area of any debris (more on this later). ### 4. Prime and paint the wall (if necessary) If you’re starting with a new wall that hasn’t been painted yet, now’s the time to prime it! This will help your wall wrap adhere better and last longer. Just make sure to use a primer that’s specifically designed for vinyl wall wraps—oil-based primers should be avoided, as they can damage the vinyl over time. While the surface does not need to be painted before installation, keep in mind that wall wraps can be removed more easily from painted surfaces than non-painted ones. Newly painted walls should be left to dry for at least a week before the wall graphic installation. If you think you might want to remove the wrap at some point down the road, painting the wall first is recommended. It’s a lot easier to paint an entire wall when it’s empty rather than trying to paint around your wall wrap later. ### 5. Clean the surface Once you’ve taken care of any repairs and/or painting, it’s time to give the entire surface a good cleaning. Even if your walls look clean, there could be unseen dirt, dust, or other debris that will interfere with the adhesive’s hold on the back of the wall wrap. To avoid this issue, it’s best to give the surface(s) a good cleaning before installation day. You can do this yourself with a mild isopropyl alcohol and water solution and a clean rag—or hire a professional cleaning service to do it for you. ![Wall murals for corporate office - Brand Ink](https://www.brandink.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/20200910_164628-1024x768.jpg "Wall murals for corporate office - Brand Ink | Brand Ink") ## WHAT TO EXPECT ON INSTALLATION DAY Now that you’ve prepped your office space and chosen the perfect location(s) for your wall mural, it’s time to sit back and relax—the hard part is over! On installation day, a team of professional installers will arrive to take care of everything. They’ll start by surveying the area and making sure all the furniture and fixtures have been moved out of the way and everything is ready for the wall wrap installation to begin. If you have any questions or concerns, it’s best to notify the team prior to their arrival. While we certainly encourage you to ask questions as they arise, this will save time and help avoid any unwanted surprises. Are you still working on your design?
